I took AP Calc so I didn't have to take Calc in College, turns out that not only did it count for a math credit, but it also counted for 5 science credits!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I honestly think that Geometry is the easiest type of math there is. I'm taking Math Methonds 1 IB right now (11th) or in other words Pre-Calc IB which stands for International Baccalaureate, the class is awesome but it's probably because of the teacher, he's cool.

Whenever you have a teacher that's not stuck up, you generally find that students enjoy the class and learn more. Other teachers should take note.

My Math teacher is a pimp.:mrpimp:

My math teacher this year is nice. A lot nicer than last year's who was like a drill Sgt. She gave us tons of hmwk each night that would take up most of my free time after school. She was really tough but learned a lot. I ended up getting an 98% on the state final.

You are in luck, this is exactly what I'm doing in school right now.
the answer to the first one is1443585 and the second is 2097152. If you need help finding the answers you'll have to talk to me on MSN i guess.

Thanks for calculating this.

The answer of the second is 40
You're right for the first.

It was the last question of a big homework I had to do for today, we had a month to do it. I'm hopeful to get a nice result.

Btw this math course is part of the Computer Science program at UQAM university in Montreal.

that's the sum for the 2nd one. 40 is something else. We call it N(case sensitive), i don't know the actual term for it. It's one less then the amount of numbers in the series. I can't believe this is college work, i've done harder in my class and im only a junior in high school.

Geometry is like Statistics - easy but pisses me off cos you actually have to learn stuff and do more drawing than I like. I like Further Maths cos that's just thinking, not much learning stuff involved.

It's called the first (n-1) terms.

It's easy yea.. however this part is to introduce something much more complicated we did last week.. i'll give you an example later :)

In Further Maths A Level we are doing Stastics:f***:

Hey, Are you using this formula Sum = n/2 (2a + (n+1) d) ? Just wonderin.....

No idea :$

I have to do Statistics for my further maths A-Level too. I hate it, especially the teacher, who's 'teaching method' involves setting questions then copying the answer book out onto the board.

Sn = a(n+1) + n(n+1)d (arithmetic suite (1st))
.................... ¯¯¯2¯¯¯

Sn = a(1 - r **n+1) (geometric suite (second))
.......¯¯¯¯¯¯1-r¯¯¯

a = the first term
a+d = the first term + the second
d = (a+d) - a = d
