Undeniably, they enriched the footbal played there, because, well, it's just great to see Mexican fast, somehow talented and determined players - along with other south american ones, brazilians, chileans and argentines - as well as their always packed up and beautiful stadiums
but, Libertadores means, in pratical ways, nothing to Mexican teams. Their true interest for a future qualifying for the FIFA World Cup of Clubs and the title that really regards them, their continent and confederation is the Concacaf continental tournament.
When a Mexican team goes far places in Libertadores, it is basically there to 'disturb' others, because as for 2001 (??) for example, when America (??) played against Boca in the final, they would get nothing but the trophy there - and they still had their own continental trophy to play for. If Boca lost, they'd have nada to dispute.
