I thought Mexico SUCKED BIG TIME in that game!
The one good chance they had, they converted, and got the victory, but Mexico looked lacking in that match!Awful shots, bad passes, easily dispossesed but they won the game anyway....
too bad for Brasil....you can tell theyre young! All those bad touches and NOT enough "umph!" to get the ball in the goal....its all good!

Yes Mexico did suck IMO as well, what a boring a lackluster team to be honest, the saddest part is that they were (for the most part) playing their starters...unlike Brazil who basically had the U-23 team playing

I just got done watching the match.. the game wasnt too bad, mexico's defence was all holes all over the place... shame the kaka lob over the goalie hit the post cause it would have been an awasome goal. But Mexico's goal was pretty good as well..
Brazil had their chances and they didnt convert... so they lost.

first of all Mexico doesnt really have "starters", they have about 4 regulars who usually play all the time, and most of these were missing, such as Blanco, Luna, Marquez, Torrado, Davino and others.

Of the players that played today a few are "regulars" such as Arellano, Carmona, Borgetti and Pardo, the rest are new to playing with the natl team.

And like others have said Mexico's goalie, Sanchez, was like always the best player.

And now that we've beaten the hardest opponent...bring on Honduras!

Well that would be Mexico's fault wouldnt it?......my point is they were (with the exception of a couple guys I never heard of on defense) playing national team regulars and that is a fact......

Stunna, why aren't those regulars playing? Is it injuries or have they just been replaced because they don't play so good any more? It wouldn't make sense to rest top players and not call them up for a tournament like the Gold Cup, especially considering the final will be played at the Azteca.

Marquez is suspended due to the red card that he got against the US in the World Cup. Torrado is hurt. Luna and Blanco weren't called up for some reason even though both still play well. Davino is also hurt. Those are the regulars that Stunna was talking about that aren't playing.

Anyway, about the game, both teams played pretty badly. Mexico had the good play and they were able to score. It's about time that we won a game. About our goalkeeper Sanchez, he was definitely the man of the match. I wasn't too surprised he made those saves since he does that very often with his club Chivas. I'm just glad that we won.

I still have no idea why Lavolpe keeps playing "El Chato" Rodriguez. He f*cking sucks when he plays for the national team.

For me the big Absents in Mexico NT for the Gold Cup are:

Marquez: Suspended
Torrado:Inj
Davino: Inj
Blanco: Ask Lavolpe
Morales: Ask LAvolpe
