Oh my god, you MUST be kidding. You think that the salaries in the Mexican league can even come close to the pay in big European leagues?? They aren't paid big in Europe because their talent doesn't justify it. Tell me, how many big Mexican players play in strong leagues in Europe?? One, two?? You are right about them not wanting to take the risk though. I'm sure they wouldn't want to go from playing first team football in Mexico to being a third string player in Europe:)

Well yeh they come close (America pays Zamorano 300,000 per month), and another reason why mexicans dont go to europe is that they r 2 expensive to buy campare to argentineans and brazilians, and i think u must have a little respect for the best team in concacaf(i dont care what u say we r still the best in concacaf)

I'm sorry, but I have to ask...do you live under a rock? Did you miss what I said in my previous post about the US beating Mexico four out of the last five times. If you really think that Mexico is still the best team in Concacaf, then I feel very sorry for you because you're one of those fans that walks around with blinders on trying to ignore the truth. If you thought with your head rather than your heart, you'd see the truth...

"Yeah right, excuses and more excuses. Admit it. You lost against a better team. The US is growing while Messico is going down. I believe in less than two years the mexicans will be a really crappy team. No offecnse but u guys lack depth and future stars"

I admit it, we lost against a better team. The U.S. was definitely a stronger team that night and Mexico played abismally.

Nevertheless, Mexico is a strong team and we have prepared very well. We came from being one of the teams looking to miss the World Cup to working back to form and winning our place in Korea/Japan 2002. That was no easy feat.

Also, I don't think you should be making a comment about "future stars" when you don't observe the Mexican league well enough and know about Mexico's european-based players.

Actually, yes, the salaries in the Mexican league are and can be at times larger than those that Mexican players would receive in European leagues. Simply because there is a league in Mexico, that doesn't mean that it is "poor."

You should grow out of your Imperialist mentality and realize that Europe and the U.S. aren't the only countries with leagues that pay well. Besides, the MLS has been under fire many times for under-paying players, even to the point where the players themselves have taken the MLS to court about the same problem.

And if you want to knock Mexico about "third string play," check out some of the U.S.'s contributions to European football, and where they are stationed:

Kasey Keller: Tottenham Hotspur vs. Charlton Athletic, 3/18

With Keller again on the substitutes bench for Spurs, the home side again lost an EPL match; a 1-0 loss on a Chris Powell goal that won’t make it on one of those “100 Greatest Goals” videos you can get. Even with a fourth straight loss for Tottenham, don’t expect Keller to see any playing time for the club.

Conor Casey/Steve Cherundolo: RW Oberhausen vs. Hannover 96, 3/20

(Who the Phuck are these teams ? I sure as heck don't know)

Claudio Reyna: Sunderland vs. Southampton, 3/23

The US captain is among a number of Sunderland first-teamers who return from injury for this important relegation battle. Reyna is expected to start in Sunderland’s central midfield at home; three points are extremely needed in this match for Sunderland

(Reyna on a relegation-tight team ? He's a great player and a first-teamer, but shouldn't Yanks get to play on better teams according to you ?)

Joe-Max Moore: Derby County vs. Everton, 3/23

Moore may be hard pressed to be on the substitutes bench, due to a number of injured Everton players possibly coming back from injury. With Kevin Campbell one of those players, Moore may be bumped off the substitutes bench for Everton in another important relegation match for both sides at Derby’s Pride Park.

(Damn, another one on the bench, huh ?)

Gregg Berhalter/Jovan Kirovski: Crystal Palace vs. Walsall, 3/23

At best, both Americans will be on the substitutes bench for Palace in this match.

(And two more)

Cory Gibbs: St. Pauli vs. VfB Stuttgart, 3/23

With his first national team camp and a potential cap in his near future, Gibbs will try to rebound from a poor showing last weekend against Stuttgart. St. Pauli simply need three points from this match against a strong Stuttgart side, who are ninth in the Bundesliga table.

(Some more low-end German teams)

Tony Sanneh: Hertha Berlin vs. FC Nürnberg, 3/23

Another Ami in danger of relegation from the Bundesliga is Sanneh, who also will try to comeback from a poor showing in his last match as he starts at right back for Nürnberg.

(Are you beginning to notice a trend here ? You think these relegation-bound teams pay these American "stars" a good amount of money ? Think again)

David Regis: Metz vs. Sochaux, 3/23

Regis continues on suspension for a possibly relegation-doomed Metz side.

(Can't hit you up too much for this guy - he was French-born) :D

Well there you have it, now you learned a thing or two about where American players are stationed and gained a little insight into their future and how much they are paid.

Also, Mexican players are paid well in Mexico, but when European clubs show interest they have to take substantial pay cuts to play abroad. Some of these people have families and can't afford to take these pay cuts...something that you and your childish mentality have missed.

Cuauhtemoc Blanco was willing to take a pay cut to go to Spain and he now saw that it wasn't worth it - he wasn't a bad player and even helped Valladolid tie against Real Madrid with a free kick earlier this year. He just wasn't in the coache's future plans and is now returning to America in Mexico.

"I'm sorry, but I have to ask...do you live under a rock? Did you miss what I said in my previous post about the US beating Mexico four out of the last five times. No one denies that the U.S. is a better team - the results have proven it and they play so very well and strong now. I enjoyed watching the U.S. qualify and have been impressed by the way they play like a true team.

The players play a well-conformed, homogenous style and have great chemistry between themselves. The one touch passes and the strength of their formation show that they've practiced a lot to be where they are at today.

Mexico, on the other hand, has not had such a team. Aguirre has tried out close to 50 players since he has taken over the National Team. He has also left out many great players in Mexico that have experience and great talent. In the past matches some of them have been our European based players like:

- Cuahtemoc Blanco (Real Valladolid, Spain)
- Juan Francisco Palencia (Espanyol, Spain)
- Gerardo Torrado (Sevilla, Spain)
- Rafael Marquez (Monaco, France)

Some our great players were suspended and/or injured:

- Jesus Arellano (Monterrey, Mexico, Suspended)
- Rafael "Chiquis" Garcia (Injured)
- Ramon Morales (Guadalajara, Mexico, Injured)
- Claudio Suarez (Injured)

So you see, it's easy to point fingers and laugh at the opposition when they lose, but there are factors to a national team's demise.

Look at Brasil - Do you think if stupid coaches like Wanderley and Scolari (who have tried out so many players that the public has lost count) do you think they'd still be struggling ?

Brasil used to dominate Conmebol and everyone in their region used to fear playing them. Nowadays, teams like Ecuador can beat them. And you know what ? It's true, good things can't last forever and sometimes your opponents will grow bigger, better and faster.

The U.S. is a great team, and good luck to them in the future. But I don't think that because Mexico has had difficulties, that it's a "crappy" team. Learn to observe and study football more in depth other than match scores...you might actually understand a thing or two about the game. For now, I can only think of you as a :monkey:

Good one Teknos i support you in everything

The thing is that the US has a limited skillful players so Arena uses the same team for a lot of months in the other hand Mexican side is constantly changing players until Aguirre finds the correct squad for the WC, the results of this is the lack of team work but when aguirre stars putting the REAL mexico youll see

I think both teams are good teams but I think that Mexico and USA are at the same level, and about Costa Rica they have a lower level even if they finished 1st at the Road 2 the world cup
