MiniDisc Question

I dont have a minidisc player or recorder and im planning to buy a minidisc(recorder) walkman so that i can move tracks from my pc to the minidisc. I've been looking around and it seems that only the ones with NetMD(sony) that i can do this with, or am i wrong?my birthday is coming soon and thats one of the things im getting from my mum. Since the minidisc is just like regular cd in terms of capacity i.e. about 17 tracks, should i not even bother and go for a portable mp3 player instead but then theres also an issue of capacity but im not quite sure about how many mp3s i can hold in the various sizes ie 32,128mb etc, then thers also the issue of cost as im thinking between £100-150 theres a squeaky chance i can push a tad bit higher but definately not up to £200,also an issue of design if an mp3player, i dont want those huge boxes that look like regular walkmans. Any info and/or ideas?

just get a jukebox mp3 player.

I have one from archos.com and its great. I have the one with 6GB so I have almost 1500 songs there and I can carry normal files like an extra hard disk.
and the jukebox supports winamp playlists too so I bassically have all the music and playlists form my pc in the jukebox. its great!!! :rockman:

MP3 Player, definately. I'm planning to get one but I don't know when. Here's a good site to get them at - http://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk

There are 2 main types of mp3 player- ones that use memory cards and ones with built-in hard drives. Memory card ones tend to be much cheaper, but you will need to buy memory cards for them which will push up the price quite a bit. They also have nowhere near as much storage capacity as the hard drive ones.

The hard drive ones can hold thousands of songs but tend to be larger and more expensive.

It's all a question of budget really.
