^^lolzer.....yer right about that kid's delivery.....it's a beauty watch his release point and the way he positions his feet.

About Ryan, did he have any male offspring? From what I've read of 'em, the guy was a ******* genetic mutant....the epitome of a workhorse.

If his Cock is still kickin', I'd force breed 'em with this Goddess

Just bought a couple of tickets for Tuesday's Dodgers-Brewers game off of Stubhub.com. The seats usually go for $25 in advance, $30 on game day but I got them for $10 instead. (H)

Man, we're really slumping right now. 2-6 in our last 8. I mean, it included a rough east coast trip to the Mets and Phillies, but our bullpen looks awful (except Cordero and Villanueva). And our offense except for Weeks, Hardy, and Fielder blows. Our ****ty platoon at 3B with Counsell and Graffanino is hitting like a combined .220 with 1 HR and 15 RBI in maybe 160 ABs. All while Ryan Braun is hitting .358 in AAA with 8 HRs, 11 BBs, and only 9 Ks.

And Ned Yost is a crappy game manager. Should be fun to watch though, there are a lot of Brewers with some serious talent. I'm just pissed I watched us lose at Miller Park today and I was surrounded by Twins fans at the stadium and on the bus ride home. ******* Minnesota. They really want to be Wisconsin, which is pretty sad.

And you thought the Brew Crew was really hitting it the right way? C'mon man they were beating team they were supposed to beat.

hey, ive got a question for you, bros......those two guys above......hall of famers? And if so, first balloters? No?

I've been a fan of both for the longest time and feel that they belong in the HoF, but I highly doubt that they'll be first balloters, man.

Biggio yes, not at first try though.
Mcgriff maybe, not so sure about him even though he had a couple of stellar seasons.

Biggio should get in, since he excelled at multiple positions, but as Deisler said, he's gonna have to wait a few years. As for McGriff, I'm on the fence, but if I had to make a cut-and-dry decision, I would say no.

hmm....yeah. I've only recently become a stats whore and I don't know if he's got a chance with the voting committee's stricter standards and all

ah well.....the Crime Dog will always be a HoF in my eyes....

hmmm.....surprising that yer so definite about Biggio not getting in and more borderline about Mcgriff. When I brought up Biggio, it wasn't a question as to whether he'd get in, but would he be a first ballot-er?

Wikipedia the dude, you might be amazed by his achievements and astounding credentials.

here's an example

-Baseball statistician Bill James in the Revised Historical Abstract rated Biggio the 4th best second baseman of all time and the 35th best player of all time.......

And this is coming from a pure statistician.....someone who only acknowledges figures and not sentiments.

Honestly, bro. Wikipedia em.

No because all of those accomplishments are the result of being consistently good for 20 years, so he has a lot of hits. He was never anything more than an average player to me, and just because he stayed around for 20 years (longer than he should have in my opinion) he's a HOFer. No way, he was just never an elite player.

I was borderline about the Crime Dog because I didn't look up his stats, I was assuming about a .290 hitter with 480 HRs.... let's see... .284/.377/.509, 493 HRs. Best seasons in Tampa Bay, that's funny. Yeah, I think a career .886 OPS guy with essentially 500 HRs is a HOFer. I'd let Bagwell in as well. I just never thought Biggio was special.

Come on. Crime Dog has a better career BA, OBP, SLG, OPS, more HRs. But he's not a guaranteed HOFer and Biggio is because Biggio was a leadoff hitter and has 2000 more ABs. That's such bull. Biggio has 4 gold gloves, which I think is nice, but it's at one of the easiest defensive positions in the game. Why don't we just move borderline HOF guys to 2B and Catcher because historically those positions are crappy and relative to other 2Bs and Catchers they would be amazing? Stupid. Stats should, for the most part, be evaluated independent of defensive position. Brooks Robinson can get in because of his defense and position, not Biggio.

I love you and all, bro, but you're being insanely unreasonable and irrational here. I mean, when did being consistent and reliable become misconstrued simply for mediocrity? Seriously, what's more remarkable than maintaining good health and excellent stats over a 20yr career? You accuse Biggio of having stayed on too long in the game, but let me ask you, has the quality of his play dipped so badly as to warrant retirement? I really don't think so....especially if you're continually reaching milestone after milestone.

He was certainly no Alomar or Sandberg at his position interms of defence, but you can easily make the argument that he was at or near the top of his position for a solid decade.....how many other players can say that they were that dominant at their position? Sandberg is already a HoFer and Alomar is pretty much a lock also and he compares favourably with both statistically....even betters them. He was also an Allstar as a catcher and at or near the top at that spot when he was playing it........what's a harder position in Baseball than the catcher's spot?

I can see how much of a hard-on that you've got for second basemen....I mean the bias and prejudice from your post is intense.....so much so, that you've even gone as far as to compare a purely contact (of course with phenomenal power for his position) hitter with an outright slugger........cmon, bro......you're not a homerun whore, are you? Because if you're not, we shouldn't even be having this conversation.....just dig this dissertation piece that supports his HoFer status.....it does a whole helluva lot better job of making a case for 'em.

I know that he's not a razzle dazzle type player who invokes adoration and acclaim like some of the other longball kings or fan favourites, but just look at his accomplishments instead of his sexiness, you know?

biggio's no joe morgan, but he's pretty good. 5th in bill james' ranking, i'll quote some stuff from his book (it's very useful).

- 5th player ever to play a full season without grounding into a double play
- 34 hit by pitch

these little stats he performed well with had an impact roughly equivalent to 100 points of batting average.
also as mentioned, he was an all star catcher AND second baseman. the latter may not mean much, but the former is something to be reckoned with (even by itself).

EDIT: as great he was, he is on the decline and should pursuit his next hitting milestone with a LIMITED role, he's hurting the team.

yeah thank god you rejected my last deal, i wouldn't have the homers that i have if i traded away hardy AND duncan.

BTW who tried to claim Ryan Braun off waiver? I hope everyone did because I expect this league to be competitive, and I want to feel like a supasta for a day having won the claim.

What is up with the Yankees this year? Slap in the face aswell seeing Boston Red Sox and the Mets doing well.

Its simply a case of a team getting too old, too fast. If you take a quick look at their best lineup, only one player (Canó) is under the age of 30. What's also hurting them is that over the last several years, in the ruthless pursuit of instant results, they asset-stripped their minor league teams for the most part by trading away their top prospects in exchange for star players that would ostensibly help the big ballclub. Only now are they realizing the error of their ways, and the Yankees are building their minor league system back up.

However, as a somewhat partial Mets fan, I'm enjoying every minute of the Yankees demise this season.
