Morale - What's going on???

Augustine

Hello man,

I am playing career mode using Tottenham, and I always get assists from Aaron Lennon. However,he always gets 0 morale!!!

So later I renew contract for him by increasing his salary and add in bonuses. However,he remains 0 morale!!! Many players like Jenas,Zokora and Lee Young Pyo are all having 0 morale!!! But I win many games in the past month and they do always be my starting 11!!!

So what's going on actually? Can I brush up their morales?

Any solutions???

Is it related to the positioning???

Actually I don't think so as my Chimbonda (RB) also gets 0 morale!!!

HELP!!!

i got a feeling it might be something to do with your manager rating because its the same here i`ve started with Hereford and the players are 0`s and they won`t accept new contract and i am 4th in table, i`m wandering if anybody knows how to increase these morale`s on players.

Yeah i find that my RWM/LWM/LM/RWM's aaron lennon, caner erkin, arda turan & quaresma have morales of 28, 44, 49 and 63 respectively, where the rest of my players have morale in the 80-99 range. IMO i reckon its due to the tiredness of the players, as i find that those are the players which i rotate the most, and because they get less game time/on the bench/tired, their morale goes down.

I've maintained the 80-99 morale for the rest of my team through squad rotation. Try rotating your players (e.g. play your subs/reserves for 2/3 games, then your 1st XI for the next 2/3 games, then subs/reserves etc.) works for me :hump: :)

Thx! But where should I set them on benches?
I mean in the "Team Management" Section or "Manage Your Team" section before I play the match???

I don't take too much thought about the bench. Generally, if a player is really tired (i.e. red, borderline yellow in the energy meter thingymabob) i'd put them on the reserves to let them recover, otherwise I'll just replace the player with another who can play in that position. But probably giving my wingers some game time at the end of the match might help with morale. Hope it helps :)

Doesn't matter. What matters is what happens during the game. I like to organise my team from Team Management - squad rotation, kick takers and the like - and then save, so that if something untoward happens I don't have to reorganise a second time, but that is just preference.

As to the general problem of morale, I had similar issues in FIFA 06 with my midfielders. The fatigue changes in FIFA 07 have simply made the problem worse, and it now affects any player that gets very tired. This has a negative impact for two reasons, firstly because they play less and without getting several games on the trot, and secondly because the game penalises the morale of those players that start a game already tired (starting at 60% and increasing the penalty in 10% steps)

Morale is effected by three things as far as i can tell. Games, goals and position.

Your first team will just about always get high morale. If they play them regularly then they will no doubt be happier. As the season progresses, with fatigue and injuries your subs and reserves will start getting matches and hopefully starts. When you are in easy cup match or if you have wrapped up a season with many games to spare play your non regulars to make them happy.

Scoring lots of goals, or important goals really help a lot. A great example if Cristiano Ronaldo. He is a RAM in the game and given the tactics I use he is either a RM or RCM, this means he's morale is taking a battering because he is playing out of position. However if you are having a good game, playing him up front in a striker role which gives him a chance to score goals and boost his morale.

If you notice, in the team management section, next to each players head there is a rating for that player. Eg 86/86. That rating is for the player in his current position and in his prefered position. If you play them out of position then their rating and morale will drop.

But for me,I'm using Tottenham and Aaron Lennon is my starting 11.

I almost use him every matches. I play him as a RM in Formation 4-1-2-1-2,but he cannot gets morale higher than 10! And also my debut RB's morale is decling too!!!

welll 1rst yr on Xbox, as manager i stuck with my original 12 and all the morale was like 89 - 89 and the becnh was like 25, 30 and etc, but i do think part of it has to do it chemistry and then game time, i dunno usually a player on my team whos contributing alot like goals, assists really havveee highhh morale, also answering the questions ur get correctly will increase morale,

One thing I've been experimenting with is using the sprint button very sparingly (or not at all). Obviously it doesn't eliminate the problem altogether (after all, you are only controlling one of ten outfield players and the others will sprint some of the time when you are not in control) but so far it has made a surprising difference, especially to my outside backs and midfielders, who I would sprint down the line a lot.

The other thing that I've had some success with, but I'm still tweaking, is to change several INI file parameters to values closer to last year's settings (although that is obviously only helpful if you are playing on the PC). Of course what works nicely for my first season Wycombe side may be horribly unbalanced for someone playing as a top Prem side (or my son, who is playing as Fiorentina, and didn't notice the problem for the first dozen games or more) so I'm being cautious about that route for the time being.

So where can I find the ini files you mentioned?

And does it mean I shouldn't sprint?

I've heard about it and now I seldom sprint, but it doesn't help........ :nape:
