Fernando Morientes is an injury doubt for the UEFA Champions League final after suffering an injury during Monaco's clash with Rennes on Saturday.
The striker, who is having a fantastic loan spell at Monaco from Real Madrid, was stretchered off shortly before half time.

Morientes was taken from the field clutching his ankle and in obvious pain.

After receiving treatment on the sidelines, he was able to hobble down the tunnel and the early prognosis is that the Spanish international should be fit to take his place in the Gelsenkirchen spectacular a week on Wednesday.

Morientes is due to undergo a scan on Sunday and Monaco will be hopeful their talisman will be given the all-clear to face Porto.

Christ, Lets hope he gets well and is able to play. It would be very sad if he was to miss the Final

Wow, I hope the injury isn't serious. It'd be a shame to not play the CL final against him, especially bcs he's so influential on Monaco's side.

Thing is, if we play a team, we want it to be in their full power. If we lose - they were better, congrats; if we win - no excuses.

I hope he plays.. because he was very important in the all season of CL for Monaco, he deserves to be there!!(Like Nedved last year for Juve) However it would be great for Porto if he doesn't play...

I doubt Monaco has the money to get Morientes permanently...especially after this great season he is having, his price would have rocketed...how ironic for Monaco
