Well of course it is :D

Anyway, Aventura is absolutely terrible (apart from maybe one catchy tune) ... so is Elvis Crespo. Love a bit Enrique though (H)

My dad prefers his dad. You like a singer who came out of a singer my dad likes. My dad likes crappy music. You make the connection.

Only Spanish music I listen to is Molotov, but they also have a lot of songs in English. And seem to mix both languages. Other than that, I don't care enough for Spanish music.

By the way I think reggaeton is the worst type music ever created. Ever.

Mars Volta also mix a lot of Spanish and English in their lyrics. (Y)

As for reggaeton....I have no idea what the difference is between reggaeton, ragga, reagge, dancehall etc... :(

and from time to time I like to listen to some Paco Ibáñez classics, such has Palabras Para Julia:

Santana (the guitar player, not the rapper) and Rodrigo y Gabriela are the only "proper" latin artists I have. Although like Dragan says, The Mars Volta sing in spanish from time to time too.

Personaly, I don't like it.

I don't like the lyrics, their style (specialy all of them reagaeton bling bling f*cks) but I have to say it sets up a good mood at parties.

For me, reggaeton is more like a social thing.. I mean, it's pop culture. It's fun to sing or dance to a song that everyone knows and all that kind of stuff..:amika:

I see Latin music in generaly is pretty stereotyped outside Latin American countries. Which is alright I guess (take me for example, I know absolutely nothing about Asian, or east european music)

I personally can't stand Molotov...I do listen to Reggaeton though (H) I'm guessing it's all about your background and which Latino country you come from b.c I'm not into all that Mexican music you hear out there riding around the streets. It annoys the heck out of me but hey, that's their taste and culture. I'm sure some of them can't stand reggaeton.

DO you mean the mexican music that plays the same beat in every song no matter what?? If so, then I'm with you, It does get annoying.

Any song by MANA, is great.

Mexican music (in general) is by far the crappiest of all Latin American music :p

Mainstream music it's very influenced by American music and, on the other hand, all them other "Rancheristas" and artist from other music genres (who are very nationalists) sound horrible :p

at least that's my opinion...

I am listening to Los Amigos Invisibles right now (from Venezuela)

I really like Hombres G (Spain)

Also a lot of salsa and merengue. Juan Luis Guerra (Dominican) Gilberto Santa Rosa (Puerto Rico), Oscar De Leon (Venezuela) and many others.

Reggaeton is so-so... some songs are alright.

I also like Mexican corridos, banda and cumbia. Los Tigres del Norte. Intocable. Pepe Aguilar. El Recodo. Also ranchero and mariachi like Vicente Fernandez and Alejandro Fernandez, Pedro Infante and many others. Great music for when you're drunk off tequila (H)

I'll listen to Luis Miguel's boleros if I feel in a romantic or cheesy mood, and they're great for singing in the shower or in the car.

Also like Manu Chao.

There are tons of others I like that I just can't think of right now (H)

That's my extent of Spanish-language music.

I also like Brazilian bossa-nova, samba and the new bossa-nova artists are cool. Obviously, this isn't Spanish, but Portuguese.;)

I guess I have a very eclectic music taste.
