MY EMULATOR IS ALWAYS CRASHING WHEN I PRESS THE ESC BUTTON, HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a problem with both of my emulators (epsxe and cvgs). Whenever I press the ESC button it just crashes, I can move the mouse but the screen is just frozen.

Here are my specs:

AMD 550MHZ
Vodoo5500
64 mb ram
15gb hard disk space

Someone plz help me.
