When I went for my KFC job interview, I lied my ass off about being responsible and reliable. I was only there like 2 months but after 3 weeks I was the most slack guy there.

yeah they watch you for a little bit, so you have to be good and follow all the rules, be on time, etc. but after your known there and have gotten use to it, you can slack off a bit.

That's odd, I didn't know employers did that.

Geeze, it's not like you're signing up for the military or anything.

If you're going to wear your school uniform, just wear a plain jumper over it. The main thing Coles cares about is the hours you can work. Basically if you can't work weekends you have no chance. Also, at Coles Myer group interviews they love to hear you talk and participate, even if you're full of crap.

Alright thanks, what should i talk about, and i still don't fully understand myer group interviews, what are they, are there other people involved?

its not an actual interview. you go in, sit down at a table with a group of otha people. if you're lucky there will be other people your age and its easier... there are also older people going for higher up jobs and stuff so it depends. they are basically seeing how well you work with other people. apparently you just introduce yourself and do some group problemsolving type exercises (no idea :S) and then fill in the final form.

i gathered this from talking to some people who applied. dont know how accurate it actually is :p

that's exactly right parra power

i work at a supermarket and the process started with a group interview

just make sure you act friendly and interact with everyone as much as you can

they're only looking how you interact with strangers to make a link to interacting with customers, which is all that even matters to them

the tests are utter crap and mean nothing

there is one at the end about "morals" which you might want to lie about

sample "John smokes marijuana in his spare time, but never turns up to work under the influence", is this ok?
"John turns up to work under the influence of alcohol, but it does not effect his work" is this ok?

Hahah you are such a dropkick Surfy. Coles, for god's sake, you're acting as though it's the most important interview you'll ever go to. I would be worried about being seen going for an interview in Coles or even worse, seen walking around in the Coles uniform :(

I can't believe you're worried about an interview for a supermarket. :|

And I thought I worry too much.

haha those were the exact words that went through my head when I first read this thread!

For Christ's sake, all you see is dopey looking teenagers working in grocery stores, as long as you don't call your interviewer "dude" and can demonstrate that you can read, I'm sure you'll get the job...
