i know people are gonna be like "why the hell are you talkin bout next years game when this years hasn't even come out yet" but the truth is the game basically is out. It seems like everyone is playing the demo and we have heard enough to know what to expect in and outside of gameplay. So if EA is truely done with the game then hopefully they will be starting to plan for next year soon. Here is the kind of things I hope to expect next year.

-Career Mode: 5 years is pretty much a let down in my opinion, it needs to be much longer. Come on now EA, you have TCM just sittin there and nobody wants to buy two games so you can make money. Take a page or two out of their book and add things like youth teams, player retirements, better managing options, making money off of ticket prices and sponsors etc. I would love to see the Career mode get to be as deep as TCM, and I think they should drop football fusion. Many of the things like training and set plays this year are very nice touches but I believe much more could be added.

-Dynamic weather: Many of us were disappointed to find out that not only dynamic weather has been scratched from this years version but weather altogether. If EA were to do this again, surly there would be an outroar. Dynamic weather would be a very nice touch and selling feature . If it were as deep as a know it can be I would buy the game, no questions asked. I'm talking about rain, snow, fog, wind, sleet. When it is raining players should slip every once and a while on cuts expecially when the rain is harder. The ball should skip more. In snow and cold weather, you should be able to see player's breath, they could be wearing long shirts and such. Also there should be a late afternoon and duck time of day which during the course of the game would change to night. I also like ther idea of there being hard rain one minute and soft, light rain as the game progresses, or an overcast turing into a snowy game. In winter it should snow more and in colder places it should too. Same thing for rain and warmer places. I know these things all sound like alot but just think of the realism it would bring to the game. I consider it a feature that is needed in this game.

-Freestyle control: Last year it was intoduced and this year it was slightly improved with the walk button which is cool but what about dribbling on the run? What about the good scisors, double scisors, step-overs, "mardona's", fake kicks, head/shoulder fakes and so on. The motion you use on the right anolouge stick should go along which the move and not be random. Example- rotation of stick=360 degree spin move, right to left or vise versa could be scisors, backwards could be a change in direction move or step over. If you have a player with alot of skill he might have the ability to pull off long combinations and moves. It could be one of the best features in the game if it were worked and groomed into greatness.

-Ball physics: This is still an area that needs work. I think you should be able to put curve on the ball manualy in the air on crosses, shot and such AND ON THE GROUND. You could just put the option on the wing buttons like L1 and R1 or L2 and R2 and when pressing those while shooting or passing the ball will have spin on it and curve. The spin of the ball should affect the way it bouces too. If the ball is mis-hit and has wierd spin it should take a weird bouce. Also I think that balls should take some bad bouces on the pitch and better yet what if every field had a quality rating based on the budget of each team, going back to Career Mode, and fields with bad quality would result in more bad bouces of the ball.

-CPU AI: This is a big area of the game which I think could still be improved upon. The cpu rarely uses its wings ever and everything is right down the middle. The center midfielder still aren't used enought in the game. Players also dont move off the ball enough during the gameplay and while the off the ball control is a nice touch and should be kept and improved but some of the movements should be automatic like checking to the ball. I think that this game could tremendously benefit from doing something like the 10 man mo cap from NBA Live where they could mo cap a whole team to see the reactions of the players in certain situations and the movement off the ball. This part of the game is crucial and could use many improvments.

-Other gameplay issues/ideas:
-tone down shots
-nets need to be fixed
-passing should be more random and less scripted
-set plays could be less scripted
-more loud crowds for big games
-player editor and creation

All of these things put into one great football or soccer game could be the ultimate sports gaming experience and say Fifa 2005 were to add and fix all or many of these things I'm sure they would have a buy from me and I'm sure many other people too.

i really think that we've only had the demo for 3 days.. and people are always writing this long rants.. is impossible really.. you havent played the whole game.. yes I know the demo is from final code.. but the formations are set on the demo, you dont know how different teams with different formations play.. or the atmosphere that the commentary and crowd chants add or any of that other stuff.. it seems every year there is a competition to see who can be the quickest to bash EA.

flaws, yes it has flaws, like every other game that has ever been made in history, I just dont understand the satisfaction that some people get from bashing EA, or what the point is, after only playing a demo, which gets repetitive, because is the same 2 teams, both of the teams use the same formations and the same playing style... there are probably different playing styles in the game and teams with different formations and stuff like that.. so fine.. you dont like the demo dont buy the game.. but starting long rants, is stupid, specially since most of the ones I have read show that the people have only played for 5 minutes got their arse handed to them, and they start bitching about how to do this, or why cannot I do that other stuff.. or "off the ball" sucks because I cannot get it to do this.. for years we have been asking for a more challenging gameplay, and this yr is more challenging, it also has more complicated controls and it takes longer to get used to them, not to mention to actually use them to the full of its ability. I dont care to compare to PES either, is pointless.. you like pes and hate fifa.. go to the pes forum and discuss your game of preference, you dont like pes and prefer fifa, then just stick to arguing fifa and leave pes be.. I will personally play both games, because I feel both have their good and bad things.. whoever sais pes is a perfect game that has no flaws is a blind fanboy, the same way that whoever said fifa is a perfect game with no flaws is a blind fanboy.

im not trying to rant, i just had idea's that i wanted to get out, its just the way i am. its not that i dont like fifa, heck i liked it last year, but I always am looking at ways games can be made better, and by putting it out on forums hope that EA might see it and use it, or at least it gives me some comfort knowing it is out there. Its not that I am bashing the game, i like the game, and I have never played PES. Sorry if I made it sound like that.

the idea of pulling of a series of 'freestyle' moves is quite good, in fact it has already been implemented in NBA Live 2003. Yet I think -as you point it out yourself- that it is rather early to start thinking of FIFA 2005, I would rather enjoy whatever is good and bitch about whatever is wrong -what would we do in the forums if FIFA games were flawless......- in 2004

I would like to see less 2nd and 3rd divisions, and have the American Cup with all the teams that went like EA promised they would do this year.

ok your right, i may be stupid but i do understand what version of fifa is coming out. I just was getting some idea's down that i had. Don't get all excited, i mean its not like you have to read it or give a damn. I just find myself thinking about how baller this game would be if certain things were there. I didn't think it was that illogical considering Fifa is done with 2004 and is probably already discussing what they plan to put in 2005.

This made me laugh. Let's just take a look at your posts eh? I'm guessing at least 60% of them are one liners like this drivel.

Someone takes the time to write a relatively indepth look at what was missing in the current FIFA, and what the community should expect from the next one, and you come in with some stupid off the cuff remark. This is the sort of tripe I've come to expect ... *sigh*

mkhattrick - interesting. All stuff which I am guessing people were looking forward to in 2004, funnily enough.

The one good point that they have at least taken on board some of the criticism of past games, and seem to be implementing a few new features. I am an avid PES/WE fan as it is, but the stuff I have seen of FIFA this year has impressed me. I didn't expect it to be on par with WE (which it isn't), but I'm not going to look down quite so much on those who play it now. :p ;)

Oh, and they beat Konami to online play, which is probably a good thing for FIFA. I can see virtual teams sprouting up all over the place when WE/PES goes online (player lock!), and I hope that will happen for you guys and FIFA.

Don't think that the Demo is the final game, there you can't see chants, commentaries, the gameplay will be a little better and there will be a lot of awesome features, look at FIFA-MANIA EXCLUSIVE FIFA 2004 Screenshots thread.

EA should, like all other companies, provide service for their customers and patch their games!
This is just terrible.

hopes for fifa2005 ??? :kader: :kader:
every year THE SAME .. a new version of fifa arrives and until that day everybody is looking for getting a better game next year but they will not .. :hump: ea and :hump: his stupid fifa!!!!!!!!!
why in the hell cant ea skip for just 2,3 years from not releasing a footballgame every year and then release a superb perfect masterblasta football simulation in 2005 or 2006 ... which would then top the we series or just come in the near of the quality of kcet and which makes atleast the fifa fans happy , i mean REALLY HAPPY .. not like being frustrated every year after playing the demo .... !!!!!!!
