OMG, are you still talking about a thing that happened one in a million times? if it was a real bug we had more people complaining about it... get real, many peoples plays the game and i only saw this probably bug happening one time so it was not a bug, it was a code error that happened... it can happen when you have so many things running...

I once scored a similar goal in FIFA SOCCER (94) on the Mega Drive.
I suppose the game had no animation for goalkeepers celebrating goals so every player just stood still waiting for something. The crowd cheered the goal but my goalkeeper didn't move an inch and I had to shut the game down

A bug is a coding error
It's a crap Xbox port, end of.
Maybe you simply haven't seen it yet.
I've played..I suppose over 60 games now...and I've never seen a single bit of strange behavior from the keeper, let alone a cannon mounted on his shoulder to fire the ball down the pitch with.
It's a piece of computer software, inherently, odd things will happen. To say this is 'an EA thing' or 'a FIFA thing', is just ridiculous.
I play konami games from few years and bugs do happen too
eg. PES1 - sometimes you can score a goal through side or top net, I scored twice or three times (on some 1000 matches) goals which weren't goals coz ball landed on the top of net and stayed there but goal was counted; these bug are known coz I've seen few pes1/we4 vids with it on fansites
PES2 - bugs when ball went through keeper's hands or head after stronge shots,
PES3 - some times you can see a bug with invisible wall on goal line and ball just can stop on it, happened to me after corners, happened to other ppl and videos with it were posted at iss/pes/we forum few time too
another bug, after corner for opponent you can score easy goal from half, just run with counterattack and pass to player running near side line, when you'll cross half line, fill the shot bar to 3/4 and shot
keeper always just stands with his hands in his butt on about 11 m from his goalline and usually doesn't back on time
PES4 - many ppl already said about bug with goalkeeper often just stands and watching a ball when shooting from long distance, I'm not sure if it's areal bug or feature coz I haven't seen it yet but when pes4 will be officially relased we could talk about it surely
of course all of those are just bugs and bugs happen in every game ever relased I think, but some of them happen very rarely and some of them happen often

ah, im glad someone finally admits to a few bugs in PES. its like i said before..the only reason more people havent voice their opinion about the bugs, is because not enough people are playing it to be heard....just like the Mac's.
i dont know though, to me the bug about being able to score from the side netting would just ruin the whole game! but no one speaks up about this, because there are only a select few who play the PES series, but everybody is first to jump on the Fifa bugs when someone finds out.....case in point....."Windows is a terrible OS with so many holes!!! just look at that JPEG virus that spread in PC's....that wouldnt ever happen on a Mac!!" your right, because no one cares enough about a Mac to stick a virus on it to infect 4 people.

The reason I wrote that I agreed on PES being a better game despite the fact that you hadn't mentioned it was because I wanted to avoid getting accused being a fifa fan-boy.

I scored directly from a corner in PES3 but in the replays it showed that the ball already went out but "through" the goal net.
