Right, i've had the game for under a week and have been playing on 3*. So far there are quite a few things that are incredibly frustrating:

1. When running towards a loose ball, quite often the player will just run past the ball.
2. Fouls are given (by all refs) for the most minor contact.
3. The play on rule used FAR too often.
4. Opposition players always fall over with the most minor contact.
5. Full backs always catch and either foul or block the cross of wingers no matter how big the difference in attributes.
6. Keepers will quite often throw the ball in the complete opposite direction to the way i've directed them to.
7. Fouls often randomly given for no apparent reason with no explanation from the commentary or anything.
8. Half of corners taken, no matter who by (incl. Beckham etc.) will just roll along the ground into the box despite the power bar being quite high.
9. All defences sit far too deep.
10. The "on target" range on the power bar is far too sensitive, 95% of shots are either too hard and go flying over, or just roll along the ground infront of the player.
11. Crossing will just randomly go over everyone and nowhere near anyone.
12. Players in league mode get incredibly tired and fatigued after just one match.
13. When recieving the ball on the run, almost every player will overhit it and it will either be intercepted or will run off pitch.
14. If a full back runs down the wing, the winger will automatically go back and cover the full back position instead of pushing forward, even when marking not set to "cover".
15. Players on the wing will over run the ball off the pitch very often.
16. Slide tackles hardly actually go anywhere, the players just slide on the spot.
17. Opponents always outrun my players - with or without the ball.
18. All central defenders will occassionally completely miss a cross coming in and let it go straight through to an opposing striker.
19. Throughballs are always overhit
20. If you press "L1 and Circle" to do an early cross when recieving the ball too early it switches control to a player nowhere near the ball.
21. If you're trying to strike the ball as you run onto it, most of the time it just chips it.

I know that some of these things will improve as i get more used to the game, but the majority of things i can't see that happening and they're incredibly frustrating.

2 & 7 have been driving me nuts lately, so much so that I even went back and played the previous version of the game for a while. The refs are so unbelievably frustrating because you can't even challenge for the ball without a whistle, sometimes I swear there isn't even any contact...I'm just running along side the ball carrier and 'beeep' there's a foul called against me?

For me personally it's really ruining the flow of the game and taking a lot of the fun out of it.

it's a very hard game to master mate.

That's why it is so good.

There are lots of stupid stuffs though like the random unexplainable fouls, but the rest you talk about just takes skill to master.

19 is the most frustrating to me. I mean, I've adjusted my playing style to score other ways, but I would like to hit the occasional over-the-top through ball but it always goes too far for the keeper to collect.

the better I get at the game, the more fun it is and most of what you mentioned, I don't even notice anymore. so, just keep playing and it will get better.

15 is annoying as hell. I've smashed two gamepads because of this bug. :kader:

yeah that's the other one that pisses me off...especially when I'm playing online and I think I've made this amazing long range through pass for the counter-attack and the player just skips over the ball. I dunno how many times I've yelled out "F*CK!" because of that hehe

13 is my current "favorite" :nape:

when receiving a pass and getting 1-on-1... instead of collecting the ball the player runs 4 meters to left or right

either that or you have to slow down when receiving the ball and therefore letting the defenders chase back

annoying as hell

i think the reason they did this is because "in real football there arent many 1-on-1 situations"

well in that case, why dont you fix the game instead of making the players retarded? :jambo:

bastards :fool:

another one

sometimes when you dribble you will automatically run into the defender, as if he is some sort of magnet

2,4, 7, 11, 13, 15 are all normal occurrences within the game, and it seriously pisses me off... the fouls need to be decreased significantly in PES6, hopefully Konami realize this and make some changes... and I made a thread about that jumping over the ball after a through ball to my winger... ****in stupid, no matter what I do, let go of R1, keep holding R1, try to touch it into the opposite direction (although if I do this, like you said, it's overhit and usually the keeper comes out to collect)

I've got two to add.

1. 99% of the time when you strike the ball, the players will kick it with the wrong foot. It seems like players WILL NOT hit it with their less dominant foot NO MATTER the situation. If they do hit it, it will not go in. In real life, 100% of the professional soccer players MUST be able to strike, pass, and cross the ball at least decently with their opposite foot. You don't see Beckham crossing only with his right or Christian Ronaldo. It may not be as good as with their right foot, but they still have the capacity to do so.

2. When fighting for a ball or whenever coming in contact with the CPU, most of the time my player will not push back and will easily get knocked off the ball, which typically are my strikers such as Henry who doesn't let defenders do that easily to him. It seems strange that whenever I recieve a pass while running into the box, my striker will simply have it taken away from him. And why is it that you can't curl your shots besides during free kicks or corners?

Its sad, but PES is the better soccer simulation and I've been playing FIFA my whole life. I hope Konami listens because FIFA might be catching up.

Ok, boring boring day at work, no customers at all, and i have nothing to do, so i'll try to help.

1. Try using super cancel (R1+R2), gives you total control over your player.

2. True.

3. True, sometimes it helps ya tho.

4. Yea, and so do yours.

5. You have to practice your dribbling. Try turn back and then delivering a cross, or launch a through ball to your wingers using your fullback. Considering your winger is pacey, he should get to the ball before and be in a good position to deliver a cross. Also, try using your winger to draw all the attention of the defenders, and when your fullback joins him, back-pass and instantly deliver a cross. Try pressing R2 whilst running - your player will stop instantly, the defender might not, and even if he does, you can cut to the side and deliver the cross. There are a lot of ways over that.

6. If you keep the D-Pad pressed on the direction you want him to throw, and then press X, chances are he will throw it into the direction you wanted.

7. True.

8. Corners only roll along the ground if you press the D-Pad in the "south" direction (down button).

9. True, but there are ways around that. Tweak a bit your formation settings, change positioning individually.

10. The power bar is sensitive, but with practice you will get it right. The biggest problem is not sending the shot wide, but kicking it at the goalkeeper. Notice that players with down arrows are on bad days, and they will probably shoot it badly regardless of how you did in terms of placing the shot. Try watching the GK's position, and then aim at the opposite corner.

11. You can control the crossing direction with yer D-pad. If you press it towards the goal direction, the ball is likely to head into the 6-yard box. If you press it into the opposite direction, it will go around the penalty mark, blah blah. Also, if you press the crossing button twice, the ball will gain speed and lose a little bit of height. If you press it 3 times, the player will cross it low. If you dont press it, it will be a high ball without much speed.

12. Depends on their position tho. I've noticed that DMC's dont lose much of their stamina and i barely need to rotate them. If you're playing with a good team, you should be able to rotate. But yea, that's a real problem with the game, players get tired too quickly and they get injured too quickly aswell.

13. You shouldnt hold R1 when receiving balls, except when your player is running in the same direction of the ball. That will cause him to tap it a little forward and usually that beats defenders. Apart from that, never use R1 whilst trying to control a ball. Run towards it and let go of R1 a little bit before, and then after you've controlled it you can keep running normally.

14. True, stupid bug. When you play 4-3-3 with 2 WF's that doesnt happen though. If you play 4-4-2 with 2 SMF's, it does and it's a pain.

15. True. Once again, try using super cancel, and once again, dont control the ball whilst pressing R1.

16. Cant help you on that one, pisses me off pretty much aswell.

17. Not really. Sometimes yea, but most often then not, if your player is pacey, he will beat the opposing guy.

18. **** happens. Pisses me off aswell, but it's part of football. It's a shame the game makes it random. Even if you play a perfect game, sometimes you lose just because the CPU scripted it.

19. Not always. Through balls are best used when : you're trying to put a winger on the clear to make a cross (use your fullback); you're on a counter attack situation and you have a player unmarked; you have a pacey forward and he's being marked by only one man. Using L1 + triangle (high through ball) is very good on counter situations aswell. If you're too close to the area and you do a through ball, it's likely the GK will rush out to catch it. Know when to use it and it's a killer.

20. If you press L1 before the player touches the ball, that's what it should happen. You need to press L1 as soon as the player controls the ball, not before.

21. If the ball is in movement, and your player is going to kick it without controlling it, just press R1 + forward and have the power bar go 1/4-2/4. Should be a mid-drive with good speed and power. Your player only chips it if you press square more than once, or if you have L1 pressed whilst you shoot it (sometimes you have it pressed even without noticing).

Phew, long. Hope it helps.

thanks for the pointers Grunger, but i disagree with number 8, i've very frequently not touched any buttons at all and just held down cross so its a decent way into the power bar and the ball will just roll along the floor.

there are another couple that i don't particularly agree with but i don't have time to comment on.

Thanks man (Y), i'll take your advice.

the refereeing in this game is facking retarded. 2 and 7 are so true. I don't know how many times I've yelled to the TV screen, "xxx you facking diver!!!"

But also like Nomad's 2nd point, my players get muscled off the ball SOOOOOOOOOOOOO easily without a foul being called or anything!!! This is so frustrating that I threw my Xbox controller, good thing it hit my sofa and didn't break. :p

You've just press O and the cross went low? Something is odd. Usually charging it to the middle of the power bar and pressing forward in the d-pad gives you a good mix of ball speed and precision.

k this game is pissing me off so much. THERE'S NO RUNNING OFF THE BALL!!! My fvcking players always stand rooted to the spot like douchefvcks and they NEVER go first to the ball.

Case 1: throwing, A throws to B, B controls the ball, A stands still near the side while C runs back, no one makes a run down the flank until 2 seconds later and normally by then B loses the ball or has to pass back.

Case 2: ball in the air, opposition player ALWAYS positions himself in front of my player and easily controls the ball. I mean, there isn't even a battle for the header! The opposition can control it with his foot! My player just stands behind him and he doesn't even push him or anything. Idiots.

Case 3: I swing in a cross from the flank to the far side, my far side winger is there, but again like case 2, he is standing like a pussy behind the opposition defender and the opposition defender clears with no challenge. My player doesn't even run to the fvcking ball to try to get a header!!!

Also, the fvcking game automatically switches my cursors to different players when I didn't press L1 at all!!! For instance, A slides in to knock the ball loose in front of him and I want to keep using A to chase to the ball, but the fvcking game itself switches my cursor to B which is 10 feet ahead and instead I have to use B to turn around and come back to get the ball plus he's farther away than A is.

This game is fvcking pathetic. I mean obviously it's got great realism and ball physics and randomness and all but the players have NO intelligence! They're like wood. Fvcking Konami douchebags need to sort this sh1t out, they need to get a brain just like all their stinking players do.

:f***:

the other thing that I thought of that annoys the sh!t out of me is the fact that I find this game pointless against the computer. There is absolutly zero real offence from the computer team, while it is harder to score in this game, it's now dead easy to keep a clean sheet, they don't even score on a 1v1 with my keeper. All my games end 1-0, 2-0, etc, the only time I seem to lose is in tournaments when it goes to penalties after a 0-0 draw...and I'm not even a good player or anything, pretty average actually. Gets really boring quick, thankfully the online play saves it somewhat.

Is it just me or do you guys notice this too?

I'm sorry but most of the sh!t you have in that last is unreasonable and the only reason for it is because as you stated, you've been playing on 3 stars for a week now. You need to become better.
