I've been an active member at SG-forums for quite a while and have realised which way this whole thing seems to be heading to.
Especially on 'Players Lounge' quite an amount of the new posts seem to be participating in a fight or atleast are offensive to someone. It wasn't like that before, or there was some cases (Hrvoje&co) but the fights almost always were for a proper reason.
Internet forums are mostly meant for people enjoying their free-time by talking with other people sharing the same interests.
It is a good thing to have the unique yellow/red card -system (it's not really unique tho ), but at times it seems to lead into situations where people well may be carded for just supporting the wrong team too loudly.
It's also very common to see a moderator going as low as the person insulting or just annoying him , with striking back in the hardest ways there is. It's partially understandable, since the mods are often the most active people around the forums too. Why would they want their forum to be spoiled?
I've also noticed that the users of Soccergaming.tv mostly act like a herd, lead by the influental people. There's nothing wrong with that, but it can get quite awkward. Even when a supermod (and a superposter) like Yash says something poor, or atleast something way lower than he usually is, there's still often a bunch of randoms coming out of nowhere, just to go for the attention and acceptance of the moderator. Some people also tend to just repeat what the previous posts have been, with almost the same words.
Then there's the postboosting thing. I think that even if someone clearly postboosts, he propably shouldn't get his post-count sliced. It's up to everyone's own point of view in my opinion, the post count doesn't make a big difference. If someone like hanek goes all over the place making a big amount of threads, and then adds propably the poorest ever sentence to his sig, after the post-count cut, everyone can see what he's about.
I dunno why I started this thread in the first place, maybe it will raise some conversation leading SG-forums to a better direction. Me getting heavily flamed certainly boosted me to this, but it ain't the sole reason.
Ewan, Yash, Luis, Ben & co, please don't get mad because of this, I just wrote my mind. You (the SG legends) propably are the main-reason why these boards are so popular. SG wouldn't be anything if there wasn't good posts in the mix.
