Callum

Youth Team
Red Card
The NBA season tips off on Tuesday and the college ball season soon after (Nov. 5th).

Are the Spurs finally gonna repeat?
Will the Celtics become championship contenders?
Are the Cavs and Heat gonna suck ass?

I personally know 2 of the upcoming stars at UF this year, Nick Calthes and Chandler Parsons. They will definately make it to the tournament and do very well, not win it.

I also know someone who goes to VCU, they are suppost to do pretty well.

Man why did you combine college and NBA, the two leagues have nothing to do with another and I don't follow college at all. There could easily be 2 threads for this.

this is so alex can easily ignore/change the subject to the nba when his team sucks it up this season....taylor king will be the next in a long line of perennial dookie douche bags, you have much to be proud of. nolan smith is going to be money though, athletic as hell wing and a defensive stopper....the type of dookie that i cannot hate at all. as for singler, i actually can't wait to watch him mature into a talented waste-of-a-scholarship like mceurope, or shaftlick.

on to more important things. i can't see carolina winning it all this season. there are no clutch shooters/play makers (like felton or mccants) for the close games that we really struggled in last season. unless wayne ellington some how shows us that he is clutch. we'll miss b. wright's shot blocking and defensive presence as well as his antawn jamison-like ability around the rim. deon thompson will be a very nice surprise. my pick will probalby be ucla, they are due and they are recruiting like crazy.

I have a confession to make:

Dear Carlos*y, Rony, and whoever this may concern,

I am here to apologize for my rashful bashing of Jose Manuel Calderon in his rookie season. I was immaturely impatient and I descriminated against his ability due to the stereotypical image of a "2nd-tier Euro player" I had in my mind. But now, Calderon has proven me wrong and has in fact proven to be a better decision-maker and playmaker than TJ Ford, and I completely regret my early outbursts at the point guard. I hope I am forgiven and I simply wished to clear this issue before I was labelled a bandwagon jumper for supporting Calderon this season.

Yours sincerely,

Hopeunited

The NBA thread last season wasn't as popular as in years past so I thought I'd combine the two. We can use it when it comes time for the draft as well.

Same here. Although overall I don't follow basketball nowhere as much as I used to. Only interests for me are how Rafer Alston will play; that is if he didn't get axed for ******* up on the off-season. And how will Durant play for the Sonics.

I could care less about college ball until February-March. I'll try and catch a few of the Longhorn games if I can, though. But I don't think they'll be that good this year.

sexay, by the way this opening game of the season is so uninteresting without Oden out there going against Duncan.

Wizards down 3 with a second to go against the Pacers... Arenas makes the incredible game-tying 3... but proceed to lose in OT. SO FRUSTRATING. Butler make more FTs.... ugh!

The Sonics are gonna struggle so bad this season although Kevin Durant has the looks of an amazing player.

What a start to the season for Celtics... and oh boy, did arenas suck in this game. The worse game Ive ever seen him play.

yeah, with you on this one, and imo Durant is far more.. "evolvable" than Oden. He has the potential to become really something great. He looks like a KG, just leaning more towards SF than PF/C. Some moves look almost like they're coming from a guard. Did you see that drive he made last game? Just woah! Really looks like a guy you can build a team on. Screw that, a Dynasty. a la Duncan/Spurs and.. (potentially) James/Cavs

Man that free throw shooting tonight almost resulted in all my hair being pulled out of my head (22-43, that's just gross). Last year we would of gotten blown out in a game like that but we have our own big 3, or actually big 4. If they play anywhere near the level they played at tonight we will be more than alright in the East.

Seriously though, the game against the Bucks should of never even been close, missing 21 FTs though will put you in that situation, but we managed to close it out, something we couldn't do AT ALL in our first three years.
