Need advice (formation)

I and 2 of my friends have started a new CM4 game together. I'm controlling Milan, they're controlling Roma and Inter. My squad is below and I wondered if you guys can give me advice on which players I should start, which tactic I should use and which players should play what position. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

that is a good team you have, how did you manage to get all this guys? well when i had milan i used a 442 system and it worked really fine,

I always like to start with the back. I always play 4 defenders and they are the 1st people on the team sheet.

TBH, sell some of those players, you wil never start Rooney, Shev, Diego Tristan. Lower yer wage bill

you've got loads of strikers sell some of them and keep the best. Try to get a better DC next to Nesta I think Kaladze isn't that good compared to other guys(Mexes, de la Cuesta etc.), and buy a DL as I think Maldini will retire soon.

about the tactic: try 4-1-2-1-2 that always works and certainly if you are Milan.

21 players is the limit. If you do not have quite enough for the Champions League registration, use your reserves.

That's the 1st season and me and my friend who's controlling Inter are in a bidding war, I'm not hosting the game, he is, I think he's using an editing program to give us load of money, he denies using it but i really think he does use something like that. I'd rather play without editing and trying to bring up a team without cheating but he denies so I can't really say anything.

I got rid of Ailton, Inzaghi (sold him to my friend) Serginho, Brocchi, Chamot, Ambrossini, Leonardo, Rivaldo (also to Roma) and I brought in Saviolla and Maxim Tsigalko, I think i'll get rid of tristan and mido, and I put reyes in reserves cuz his stats aren't that good so far and he's like 19 years old and i compared him to the other guys.

Thanks all for the advice, it really helped, i started the season with 7-0-0 so far.
