I am about 20 games into the season, and have yet to score a headed goal, with the exception of set pieces. Seems the crosses are whipped in with a low trajectory and I can't get my strikers in position for a header.

If anything, the crossing system this year is more realistic. However, would still like to score the odd headed goal from open play.

Any of you folks have any tips for what type of cross, from where, how to position your striker, etc.

Since this thread has such a great title, I'll tell you what I do -
I dribble down the flank and use pace control when a defender comes to tackle. Then I use sprint down the flank just enough to get him to sprint after me then cut the ball back, dismissing him. By this my forward has followed the play enough to be in the 18-yard box. I make a lobbed cross to my forward and often enough, he is able to get off a header at goal. I've scored quite a few nice headers this way.

Cheers!

Sorry for the dodgy thread title, but at least I got the assistance needed. this forum brings together men of all ages from the far reaches of the globe, but there is one thing that brings us together, regardless of race, color, class or creed ... we all need head. Amen.
