I need some tips on where to buy some shoes !!! I already know two of the best sites out there: www.eastbay.com and its affiliate, www.final-score.com

Before I buy any shoes though, I want to know if you guys know of any other discount sites.

Thanks !

- Joe

www.soccer.com is a ripoff

I've been receiving Eurosport catalogs for years...their prices suck.

Right now they have great deals on some firm ground boots, but I need some for indoor. I generally dislike indoor, but it's the winter season here in Columbus, OH and I have to play inside.

Also, I see that you live in Taiwan, Pferd. Local sports stores in the United States generally provide poor examples of football boots. They carry generic types from Adidas and Nike, and are usually all synthetic leather.

To buy good football boots in the Midwest U.S. especially, one must find a "Soccer" store specializing in football products, and because they are aware they are the only stores carrying such products, they are marked up higher than manufacturer suggested pricing.

Also, there aren't any stores around here. Reason for which I am looking to buy ONLINE. :kader:

exactly! took my words totally!... i bought the nike total 90 II from eastbay when there was a 30% discount sale (they will have one again in a month or two) and i must say that the cushioning SUCKS! i got blisters like crazy. i sent them back and they took them. I am currently wearing Adidas Predator Accelerator TURF(the middle model - in todays predators it would be Manic) and they are excellent. I am waiting for the price to come down in the Predator Manic's in GUNMETAL (turf also--suprisingly turf shoes are pretty good indoor) from www.landau-sports.co.uk (from England altho i am from NY)... i get some info from www.bigsoccer.com - one of their message boards...

actually i live in the states. I put taiwan for something else. I'd still go to the store. I have old style sambas, that i got for $40. Anyway, I live on the east coast (Virginia) so maybe youre just screwed. anyway, go to eastbay. they are the only ones i know.

edit: anyway, you only need generic ones from adidas or nike. everyone loves sambas. and you can get them in all colors to fit any kit ;)

The Total 90 II aren't that great ? That sucks ! I just found them online in white for 38 dollars :( I was going to get them...

Also Pferd, YOU may like to play with generic shoes, but I don't. I am a dribbler and I need shoes that I can control the ball with really well. Sambas are heavy and outdated. They're fun to wear around, but for real matches, they're a poor choice.

my friend just got the total 90's...the red and silver ones, they are good indoor shoes and he can control the ball with them, so i guess they are a good choice......i used to have adidas incission's (sp?)..and they were great for cheeky flicks and chip shots, that i always try;)

the first 10-15 mins i LOVVVED THEM... perfect touch on the ball, altho forefoot was a little wide... i could curl the ball with alot more ease (and were talking abt an indoor ball)... excellent etc etc..

until 30 mins into some good playing, i started getting blisters. they were killing my insoles (thats wat u call em rite) like craaazy. The reason they hurt so much is because they dont have any AIR or ZOOM AIR in the shoe, causing them to have a hard-padded material. BTW, the pic u put is the KIDS shoe, the adults one is a little different. They retail for 40$, and with a 30% coupon from eastbay, i got them for 28 (i think)...

Correct me if I am wrong, but i think the red and silver ones are not the Total 90 IIs INDOOR version. I believe they are the 365 version, which has visible AIR ZOOM unit in the heel.

I haven't had good experiences with Umbro indoor boots, so I personally steer clear of those. My current boots are Adidas ones ... can't remember the model, but it's the black one with the silver heel support and silver stripes. Vieira used to wear the outdoor equivalent. They are quite tight on my feet but that suits me fine, as you want a boot that will be really snug on your foot. Also, the sole around the toe is not so prominent, which I find makes it a bit easier to hit the ball cleanly.

Hope that's some help.

Just another thing. The Diadora ones you posted aren't really indoor boots, but they can be quite good, because the sole is nice and thin and doesn't get in the way. The real problem with them, though, is the lack of ankle support. They are really high and unbalanced in the heel, and therefore you might find yourself unbalanced on your ankles alot.

edit: ie. you may roll your ankle a bit

you know Pele didn't have shoes ;)

come now, special shoes do not make you a better player. If the shoes are comfortable and you can move your feet with them, then they are good for you. I won't try and convince you to buy sambas, but really, you don't know how a shoe will do for you until you put it on your feet.

well, i might be wrong, but im pretty sure that they dont make those in an indoor version. Check the heel and see if it has visible AIR Unit... if it does, then yes, it must be an EXCELLENT shoe...
edit: is this the shoe?

Adidas Supernova. I think the indoor version is called Adidas Gammanova ID... Are the laces asymmetrical or are they straight down the middle?

hah... ur rite, shoes dont make u a better player. However, it does make a huge difference (to me, at least)... when i have some very nice, very good pair of shoes on my feet, it makes me feel like i want to play hard MORE than i would if i had some crappy shoes...

edit: i just saw the Total Magia Chrome's on eastbay's website. Next F & F Sale im gonna get em for 70$... WHOOOOHOOO!
