Neutral, who played DC for you at Celtic?

Just interested.

I'm still in my AMC crisis, but I have only one confirmed brilliant starting DC and that is Paul Dillon. (When he isn't sitting on the bench from a RED card. He has punched out two people. Stan Collymoore and Andy Cole.

)

I usually play:

A. Hughes (DL), C. Hope (DC), P. Dillon (DC), K. Dyer (DR)

on the back. Not very good. I have put a bid for Hyypia, but he doesn't want to leave L'pool. Jaap Staam is out of the question.

I picked up Cyril Doromund from Inter when the released him, but he is been dissapointing so far.

BTW, Marcelino, Goma, Pistone, Domi, and Charvet have all been sold. Dabizas remains but is a backup DMC for Steven Gerrard. (BTW, Gerrard is brilliant.)

When I was at Celtic,
Barry Murray, Jean-Alain Boumsong were my main pair - they were good for the SPL but mediocre in Europe.
Try Matthew Upson, Woodgate, Curtis (at Man U), Andy O'Brien or Gareth Jellyman for good British defenders.
Justin Walker is pretty good in the middle too, and Mike Duff is the best right wingback in the game.

Jon Woodgate?

I offered 27 mil for him and I was turned down.

I actually have Michael Duff. Surprisingly enough, he has been useless. He is currently in the reserves. I assume a little time playing with Temuri Ketsbia and maybe a loan or two could help him.

I loaned Hughes to Bournmouth for a season and it did him a world of good.

Michael Duff
Age: 22
Bought 125K from Cheltenham.

He made 3 league appearences and they were all '5's. I dare not risk playing him anymore with the likes of Kieron Dyer on my team.

Besides, I run a 3-4-3 formation usually. His DR position doesn't fit. I figure that I'll give him another chance when I play in the UEFA cup.

Sidenote: Kim Kallstrom has just scored a brace against Leeds to give me the 2-0 win. He also scored 2 in my 2-2 draw with the Spurs at home. I am currently tied for first with Man U, Aston Villa, Charlton, and Leeds. But those damn woMAN U are one game behind.

Bastards are always playing in some Euro Trash competition. Urgghhhhh!!

Anyway, this is only the beggining of the season. Gotta keep up the pace.

Find Michael Barron and Andrew Tann
they average 7.5 and never get sent off. Dillion has disciplinary problems but he is still one of the best and Ferdinand is solid if you can afford him. also look for Cowan from wolves, these guys always play well.

Also get robbie Stockdale he will always do well and you will get offered ridiculous money for him. Bought him for 2 million sold him for 16, now thats a profit. Real madrid buy everybody.

Never used Celtic though. I am a coward I just play Liverpool, Man United and Leeds. I am in season 2006 with liverpool and we have done the treble finally.

Try Abdul Ghani of Al Ahli. He's 22 and you can pick him up for 500,000 pounds at most. He always gets a work permit.

Also, pick up Robert Jarni on a free transfer. He can be an amazing player sometimes and also a goalscorer.

Who's your goalkeeper at Celtic? Asper can someones be quite expensive to sign so I recommend Dean Williams of Telford. I signed him while managing at Fulham and he can even outperform Asper at occasions.

I started off at Rushden with Dean Williams - he was excellent - and I had Mike Duff with me every year - he was incredible - I took him to Celtic with me, and when I left he went to Arsenal. He's retired now - but man that guy was amazing. [Neutral get's blurry-eyed]
