New album - Idlewild

For a starter if you know anything about brisitsh alt. music you should who they are ( Shindig does where the hell is he? )
anyway -

Idlewild's new album 'Warnings/Promises' is coming out on the 7th of March, hopefully its gonna be as good as 'The Remote Part' but i really can't see how anyone can improve on that album.

The first single to be taken from the album is called 'Loves steals us from loneliness' it was aired on radio one last sunday, i heard it and its alot more melodic and i'm just hoping that they haven't gone completely away from songs like ' A modern way of letting go'
Anyway the song is out on the 21st of febuary.

Get this or at least hear 'a modern way of letting go' and you'll know what i'm talking about.

I've got The Remote Part and I thought it was pretty good. Heh. I'll probably get the new album as well I suppose.

My main fear is that its going to be much sort of melodic wailing. They had this really crazy basist but now he's left so there seems to be not much of an edge

I'll be giving it a look in. They have slipped into this weird melodic slump in recent years. Bit of a shame. I like the punk-infused early stuff.

100 Broken Windows probably edges out The Remote Part in this respect.

Should be a good year for music.

Bloc Party, Doves, Idlewild, Art Brut, Maximo Park all coming out with new albums.

Oh yeah ive got that bloc party song 'helicopter' that kicks ass :o .

Captain edges out all of idlewild's old work in terms of raw agression mixed with quality- six songs and they all manage to keep me hooked.

but i like they way they've gone because alot of their music is quite melodic but that just makes the more powerful songs stand out even more.

I really like Idlewild, good good band. The Remote Part is a great album. Not too many people in the States have heard them, though. Looking forward to the new album!
