Yeah, that's what i thought...
They could probably have done better if they want to, but as it is to celebrate the centenarium they try to do an "imitation" of the old one...
Just like Benfica did with the kits they are using now in Superliga, it's an imitation of the old one to celebrate the centenarium, and i and most people don't like them because we are not costumed to see this old style...

Chelsea Football Club was only created because Fulham FC refused to move to the council built Stamford Bridge from Craven Cottage, thus the council had to 'create' a second team in Fulham to fill the stadium.
So there you go, Blame Fulham for the creation of the bluepoo.

I agree that it's not that great but it was probably a design by committee (aka the board) job... They could have done a better job incorporating a 100 in an elegant way with the current crest... as mentioned though they went with something retro, a theme worth exploring but lacking in its execution.
I like the current crest with CFC and the more dominant proud lion... there are far worse team crests out there!
The lion being a cheap imitation of Man U's... that's just stupid... lions like that or similar have been used since medieval times in English heraldry.... most of the english football club crests use all kinds of similar heraldry motifs. You'd think most Brits would know that... oh yeah most Man U fans aren't Brits are they? lol
On a side note I really like how Juventus freshened up their crest. Perfect example of good design work... giving it a contemporary polish while retaining the tradition and character of the old crest.

Simple and symbolic with great respect to the traditions of the club - I like it.

Yeah ...hilarious mate.........NOT..........We had success before Roman moved in.....go to the Chelsea website and look at the trophy cabinet.....We may not have won the league for a long time but we've won just about everything else .......I've supported Chelsea all my life and if we were in the conference league i'd still support them.....And to be honest it would take a miricle for a finacially poor team to compete and win any major competitions these days.....Thats why the clubs with money win(Man U...Real Madrid....etc) and the clubs without money do not.The only other way to achieve is to have a great coach(Wenger(Arsenal)......Mourinho(Porto).......etc) who can motivate players whatever they might have cost....Money dont buy success.....what gets success is dedication,teamwork,desire,luck and a lot of hard work........and it dont matter how much money you spend,if you have not got these attributes at your club....then they will never achieve anything......
