I've just checked out all the new sceenshots and videos for FIFA2004.
Up until last year I bought every FIFA that has been produced all the way back to the old SEGA Genisis.
Last year though I tried, on advice of someone else, WE6 International and was entirely blown away by the pure authentic football gameplay of that game. Ok it doesn't have the license but coming from Europe I really appreicated the obvious effort that KCET put into the feel of actually playing football. When compated to FIFA 2003 there was really no comparison at all. FIFA 2003 was a beautiful graphical and audio treat but it's obvious lack of true football 'FEEL' was shown when I played WE6I.
So here we are another year another FIFA title and I'm reading the same posts both from prospective game buyers and EA interviews alike, Lots of effort to improve gameplay, more teams, leagues, etc, etc.
I really do want FIFA 2004 to be a great game and I want to get the same Footballing 'FEEL' as I get from WE6. EA have the FIFA license so they know they are going to get Bumper sales just for that anyway, I hope they have focused a lot on the gameplay and put a challenge to WE6 so we can have two great games to choose from because as it stands right now there is really only one choice if you want authentic gameplay.
I wait with baited breath for FIFA2004 and perform by annual ritual of keeping my fingers crossed for a game with gameplay worth of the FIFA license.
