I know why...

This year is the 130th anniversary of the FAW and to mark that they have commissioned a new kit that was based on the kit worn in 1958, the one and only time the Welsh have played in a World Cup.

I don't like the tight-fit lycra material that Kappa use but those pictures from the television don't do it much justice, particularly as it was taken from a piss-take on SoccerAM (they seem to think we only ever play egg chasing).

This picture was taken from a Kappa UK promo posted on the Welsh football fans' site DragonSoccer

The kit will get its first showing on 1st March, also the patron saint's day, in the friendly match against Paraguay.

Cheers JJ. Good to know that there is a relevent reason for the kit design.
Actually to be honest , it DOES look better in that pic than the ones earlier posted.

Whatever way the kit has had a mixed reaction so far, some people like the retro look, it is an almost exact match of the 1958 kit, bar the Krappa branding, but a lot of people don't like it.

I'm not too keen on it myself to be honest, probably might grow on me over time.

well kits have a tendancy to do that i guess. I remember i hated last seasons Nike kits but over time the yuck effect always seems to wear off. I thought this seasons new Adidas kits were horrible. Well i still do to be honest, but they dont hit me as hard as when i first saw them. I like simple kits so i dont mind the retro style.

. Umbro's England away jersey look very nice.
. Kappa's Wales, From seeing the picture, it looks bad, but, you'll never know it could turn out to be good.

Also unlike many other national teams we don't have an official presentation of the kit either, because it means the FAW bigwigs have to spend more than five quid on it, so we get some stocky bloke on SoccerAM doing an egg chasing gag. :nape:

For me nothing has come close to the 2002 kit, now that was quality. :ewan:

one thing that hasnt been mentioned yet about the new England away shirt yet.
that is on the back of the shirt is the 3 lions badge holed into the back of it, by that i mean the back panel has ben holed into a mesh type structure to create the england badge on the back which i think is pretty funky, also here in the uk its already on sale even tho its offcially not out till tomorrow plus many stores are selling it for £22 instead of the reccomended £44 so im well happy :D

The Shirt is allright, but not spectacular. the "moles" in the number are ugly IMO
I own the Home Rooney Shirt, I'm just wainting for this one to come to my local umbro shop
