hey nastipasty

can you give me details why UEFA is "against stripes" ?
Have you noticed teams in the Champions League and UEFA Cup in the last few years wearing kits that are plain-backed or ruined with a big unsightly patch behind the number? :nape: :nape: :nape:

All I know is that Organisations (FIFA,UEFA, theFA etc) together with the Media (TV Stations etc) want "Easy to see Numbers" + a clear seperation between the 2 teams on the pitch - in order to make it "easier" for the viewer to recognize the 2 teams, aswell as players.

As for Barca/Milan/Inter/Juve there isn't a problem because the number has a different color than the other 2 striped colors and is clearly visible so that can't be the reason - it must be the marketing IMO - because you can't really do a "total" new shirt, if the stripes etc have to be the same. It's bad that they only care about the shortterm money and not the longterm traditions :(

The matter is Argentinian teams and particulary Boca and Racing kind of got "special models" because the stripped model of Racing is only used by Racing, when technically it should be right like TSV 1860 Munchen one, and when you see matches of Racing you may think that it could be an "old model" because the keeper uses an old model of nike, like those that were used in 2004/2005, and actually included a "pink" one that was never seen in another team.

any reason for the special treatment, when even *The Great Barca* does not get that consideration?

Not sure why, probably they want to differ southamerican teams from Europeans, if you see Racing's shirt that kind of neck hasn't been used for european teams has it? But it has been used by southamerican clubs that use Nike, however i believe Flamengo and Corinthians may be an exception.

I still think Adidas' new kits are better than Nike's new ones.
The ones for Germany and France (both home and away) look simply outstanding.

I think they're fake.. You can see the photograph of Eto'o, it's not 'real'..

id agree with you, cos well a few pages back is a picture of the barca away shirt and it looks nothing like the 2nd or 3rd kits in the picture
