I love that new chelsea kit!!

As I do mate. You have to be a Manc or a bin dipper to dislike it, but then the kit is not the real reason for their immature opinions.

It is a kit for the Champions League matches . They had one and before . Also black . In the 06/07 season if I remember well . The clubs are under contract with adidas all have a third kit for Champions League for about 2 years now .

This year Chelsea have the white and blue one , Real Madrid had the black and green one , Liverpool had the black and red one , etc.

Incorrect , its there away kit , http://www.chelseamegastore.com/stores/chelsea/default.aspx?portal=CT2NHGDH look at the link and the attached picture , both of there official website , proof is in the writing , away kit. Not third kit.

Thanks to this agreement, Basic Italia has been given the title of Technical Supplier and Official Sponsor of Torino Football Club, as well as the licence to produce and market merchandise bearing the Torino team logo.

After expressing mutual satisfaction over the agreement, both parties have announced that its details will be clarified during a press conference on 5 July at Chia, in Sardinia, in occasion of the Second Workshop of Torino F.C., in the presence of the respective managers. The official shirts for the 2008/09 season will also be unveiled on this occasion.

"I am very happy with the long-term agreement reached with my friend Marco Boglione - commented Urbano Cairo, Chairman of Torino Football Club - and to have Kappa as technical sponsor, well-known high quality and innovative brand which features original products".

"I am particularly delighted to announce this agreement - stated Marco Boglione, Chairman of BasicNet – and to be the Turin-based sponsor of Torino. I hope that such investment will allow us to further support and boost the development of our Group."

So does there have to be a reason for the colours of a kit? Who gives a flying fu<k what colour a kit is. As long as the kit does not clash with the opposition teams kits, then that is all that matters.

If not then answer me this. Why did Manchester United go for a red kit when originally their kit was green and yellow stripes?

ANSWER: Because they wanted to. Its that simple mate.

Some of you people look too deeply into kit colours and designs. It really has nothing at all to do with the game of football. Personally I don't give a sh!t.

I like to see traditional colours used for home kits, colours are a part of a team's identity - away kits is open to interpretation, for example IMO the best away kit United ever had was the black Sharp Viewcam one.

As for the club's choice of colours - Green and yellow halves was Newton Heath's colours, but when the name Manchester United was adopted so was red and white (and the Red Devils nickname) inspired by Salford's rugby club.

Yeah sure the home kit colours should never change, and as you say Mikey, the away and thirds can be anything you want really.

I know about the Newton Heath/Man U thing. All I was trying to point out to our friend who thinks Man U have exclusive rights to a black kit, was that there really does not need to be a deep reason for choosing a colour for a kit. You choose it because you like it.

I did mean to say green and yellow halves, but I typed stripes. Still you knew what I meant. :)

When Jamaica signed a sponsorship deal with Kappa, their designers along with a technical team from Jamaica immediately started working on a new strip to be used in WCQ. They must have run out of time if this was the best they could come up with... 8|

UEFA sais that the away kit should not contain the colors of the home one . So the away kit can have any color as long that color it's not also in the home kit . So if Chelsea want a black kit for their away kit , they can have it .

you're making such a discussion about a kit that most of us will forget in a couple of years
i mean, is the away kit

as long as the home kit has the traditional colors or "theme" (striped or whatever) is gonna be ok
i remember like 10 years ago, when nike made the contract with boca juniors, how the club members and ancient fans were about to burn nike down, just coz they've added two thin white lines between the yellow and the blue
i mean, the base of the kit is the same

i mean, as long as the home kit for man utd, is red, the home for chelsea is blue and for barcelona is striped with blue and red...
