so basicly if you are playing another person.. they can see where you are going to shoot it to, and stop it easy?

Curve on a penalty kick? Normally, when a player takes a penalty, there is no curve, there isn't enough time for it to curve that much so most player's just put power behind it

The Iss penalty system is best, it's just the normal shooting system, power bar and all

Yow Gizmo, I've scored a few goals from the penalty spot and I must say that I had a few curved ones to the right lower corner or upper corner though. It just depends on what you want :)

U cud curve the ball like becks, but even he tend to smack it one, lol.

Yeah, ISS shows the shooter marker and where the keeper is gonna dive, but balances it out with poor vision on this, so spotting where they're gonna shoot becomes hard! :D

but in ISS you have the option to hide it if you want, at least the last iss game had that option.

But if you try to curve a penalty you'll find that by the time it starts to curve, it's already across the line, the ball's only 12 yards out...that's why players like Beckham or Geremi prefer the ball to be further out, as it gives the ball time to curve back in towards the goal, or away from the keeper depending on which side it is taken from

Well thugz life its a good ideao except for the curve part.
Maybe the curve marker should move automatically over the ball, at certain speed. When you press the shoot button it stops and you shoot in the direction where the marker stops on the ball. For example if the marker stops on the right side of the ball your shot goes to the left. If the marker is too much to the right the ball will miss the goal etc..
Also you should be able to choose for yourself when you start your take-off run. For example if i press forward the player should start his take-off run, but I still havent choosen where i want to shoot. I can do it at the last moment just like real life, but if I do it too late it will be a foul.

Also an idea to choose if you wanna shoot with your inside of your foot or with the upper part(dont know how you call that in english)
for example if you press A, you will shoot with your inside of the foot for accurate shots. And if you press A the upper part of the foot will be used for harder shots, but less accurate

okay, if you have an indicator on the screen to aim... wouldnt it be a bit too easy for the other player to stop the shot?

yes but thats why i suggested that you should be able to start your take-off run whenever you want. And at the very last moment you should choose which direction you wanna shoot
I hope people understand me, because it's very hard too explain in english:D
It's just in real life. Sometimes you already have a corner in your head where you wanna shoot. But sometimes you wait till the last moment and look at the keepers movement before you choose where too shoot.
So I think fifa should make the keeper move a little in one direction before the shot is taken, so you can see where he will dive. Or the keeper can make a dummy movement in one direction and dive the other direction.

well... the problem is when playing other person... if I see where the indicator is even changing at the last second you still have a good chance of stopping it..

Yes but im talking about the pic of thugz life. The red cursor should be removed. The curve meter should determine the place where you wanna shoot. The curve meter should move at all time over the ball indicator automatically. The speed of the marker depends of the skill of the player. For example if Hierro takes the penalty the marker should mover slow, so it will be easy. If Seedorf takes it(he misses a lot) the marker should move faster, making it difficult to score.
When the penalty taker press the button, the position where the player want to shoot the ball should be saved. The marker still moves tho. So the keeping player doesnt know where or when the other player has decided where too shoot.
The penalty taker now can start his take off run. This way it will be more challeging.

so why dont you just keep it the way it is now, but with more directions and more sensitive power bar.. is just a pk.. dont make it complicated.

A good penalty kick screen should be enjoyable...not something that we want to get it over with. Currently, not many ppl enjoy playing penalties because its simply too simple!
A good example to follow might be that of ISS for N64. I say that because the penalty kick screen as a box with a dot for penalty takers. The box gets bigger when the player gets lousier..eg. defenders or non-star players. The dot signifies a penalty kick taken with the shot button. The box signifies the penalty kick with a pass button. With the analog stick, you move the box around the goal and slightly out of it. With the button pressed, penalty takers box disappears, but the aiming is still active!! just that cannot see! you have almost slightly more than half a second to shift the box again to trick the keeper.
The response of the keeper is that he has a box too. A bigger box in fact. He can also shift his box ard, and the keeper moves too as you shift the saving box around the goal. His box does not disappear when the penalty taker's box disappears.
Once the kick is taken, it shows the player kick and the ball moves to the keeper...it fades away back to ur normal gameplay screen, and restarts the kicking process. A save or goal will then be displayed. If goal, celebration. If saved, play goes on. Its tat fantastic.
You also have the option of pressing L1 I think...to off the "box display"...but it works the same way. You have to guess where the box is...very good.
This is interesting and fun, provided the keeper isn't a saint in saving where he saves almost 75% of penalties in ISS N64...
