The season is finally over for Newcastle and its time to prepare for the summer and releasing players from the squad that are not needed
Review of Squad
Keepers
Shay Given- most consistant goalie in premiership
Stephen Harper- solid reserve keeper
Defence
Griffin- overpaid right back, he'll be gone
Robbie Elliot- did nothing, he'll probably leave
Andrew O'Brien- decent defensmen, does not have great skill and to many reds, could be gone
Aaron Hughes- consistent but not enough class
Titus Bramble- the skill is their but way to many mistakes, coulb be gone
Woodgate- Great when healthy
Oliver Bernard- consistent and very good left back
Steven Taylor- tipped as future England captain, need to give him chance
Steven Caldwell- sturdy centre back, shows improvment and has good size, another loan spell in future
Midfield
Jenas- never impressed me fully but still very young
Kieron DYer- great midfielder with amazing pace, needs to work on goal scoring
Gary Speed- solid midfeilder but it might be time for someone younger to step in and Speed to leave
Darren Ambrose- gets better and better every game
Jamie Mclen- still never got first team appearence
Brian kerr- never seen alot but when he did play he was hungry for the ball and howed potnetial
Lee Bowyer- 4 weeks ago, i thought he was the worst signing Newcastle ever made but ever since they moved him into the middle, he has been Newcastles best player and he looks on becoming the player he once was
Laurent Robert- had good start but has no desire to be at Newcastle, he is definatley out
Hugo Vianna- unhappy because of playing time but I feel this player can take over from Gary Speed if he decides to stay one more year
Alan Shearer- Shear CLass
Craig Bellamy- improved player but with his bad leg and questionable attitude, he might be sayng farewell to the tyneside
Micheal Bridges- He did pretty good when he got on, he is pretty injury prone but if Newcastle to sign him and if he can stay fit, he could be a great bargain
Shola Ameobi- excellent season, keeps getting better and better
Michael Chopra- has potential but with shearer their struggles to get playing time. A 2-5 month loan spell next year might be the best thing for him
Releases
1. Laurent Robert
2. Andy Griffen
3. Gary Speed
4. Craig Bellamy
5. O'brien/Bramble
Signings
I really don't know, they need a right back and maybe another centre, a lft midfeild player would be nice and another striker, maybe and Alan SMith or Matija Kezman, wut do guys think
