Next Gen on Computers

What are the requirements for a computer to handle a next gen fifa? I wonder if there is any next gen version of fifa coming out for computer in a near future.Because after seeing some images of the next gen game i don't have the same will to play a current gen game...=/
Is it possible to emulate a Next gen game?...i want it!!!!!

Emulatation takes a very powerfull computer not even ps2 games have been emulated yet, most ps1 and n64 games can be emulated however but, i dont think so mate the only way your going to play next gen in the near future is if you buy an xbox 360 and fifa 07.

Jopps.... PS2 games have been emulated just not very well as of yet, the emulators/plugins need to be optimized so that the games run at the correct speed.

I can sorta play PES6 PS2 on PC using PCSX 2 but its far too slow.

It used to be the other way, but with next-gen graphics, it makes more sense to pay more attention to the version that is getting them the most money.

Man! You don't know what are talking about. Cell is not so powerfull, x360 is equivalent to High End PC. CryTek recently spoken about their Crysis game. They said that it will only be avaible on Pc BECOUSE next gens are to slow for Crysis engine. The only one reason of Pc beeing a curent gen is cash. It's cheaper to upgrade core PS2, Gamecube, and Xbox fifa engine than port,converse Next Gen engine on PC.

The xbox 360 uses an x1800 xtx while the PS3 uses a 7800 gtx, a single 7900 gtx would blow the x360 and ps3 away, let alone a 7950 gx2, dont spread corrupted information on these forums, if ur gonna act clever know wtf ur saying you tard =/

(and no PS2 games havent been fully emulated yet, they can run at 5 fps, but of course u dont want to run it at those speeds, the problem isnt how powerful ur pc is, its because the PS2's CPU handles data different to that of a PC's cpu, also just a little note, Dreamcast games, N64 games and such have only just been emulated perfectly, so we're not gonna see ps2 games being emulated anytime soon )

You know, but not that much. There is a 7950 GTX version but it's for laptops http://www.nvidia.com/page/go_7800gtx.html and if you put together two 7950 GX2 is not called "SLI" but "Quad SLI" and there is such a thing. The only thing that you need is money. Read a little bit more

the fact is its not ur system specs that matter, the consoles handle data differently, which is why emulaters are made, but so far no one has made one with 100% worked coding, as a result you could have a 9000000 ghz intel core 2 duo extreme and you still wont get playable frame rates.
Xbox 360s and Playstations 3s ARE outdated, like riko said they use tripple core pentium 3s, I mean wow seriously **** that a 3700+ san diego would out perform that chip

to be honest you are going to need a pretty damn high end rig....but honestly what I worry about more is EA releasing a functioning version!.....we can barely get the current gen game to run on serious gaming rigs properly, so I would be very afraid to see the nightmare of coding that EA will release for the next gen.....


this sucks because after just last year getting into the PC FIFA world, with all our customization options over the console guys, I don't want to go back....

I think they can release a next-gen fifa on computer but it is just EA! they want money and therefore they release FiFA with minimum requirements to sell more. PCs are much more powerful but the costs MUCH MUCH more than consoles!

Whether (or when) the PC gets the so-called next generation version will be purely a marketing decision. With the consoles the software producer can guarantee (pretty much) that their game will run because the hardware stays constant (although I believe there are a couple of variations of the 360). With the PC the situation is vastly more complex, and until the 'average' PC catches up with the underlying specification of the Xbox360, EA will not take the risk of losing chunks of market share. Add to that the difficulty of selling a version with fewer leagues, teams, players etc. and it will be at least two more iterations (IMO, obviously) before there is any chance of a port of the Xbox360 version, despite the fact that that ought to be a relatively simple thing to do (in software conversion terms)

How could we possibly forget an OS that adds little or nothing to XP other than some up to date hardware support, a user interface that requires a fast graphics card and the ability to boot up and shutdown as quickly as possible whilst sacrificing data integrity?? Vista would be utterly irrelevant to gamers were it not for Microsoft's decision to withhold DirectX 10 and only make it available on that platform. So I guess my roundabout response to your comment is 'so what'??

Errrrr, where in the wide world did you come up with this. The Xbox 360 cpu is a tri-core PowerPC processor. It has nothing to do with Intel or their pentiums. The original Xbox had a 733mhz "pentium 3/Celeron" in it, the 360 has a processor made by IBM and uses three 3.2ghz PowerPC cores. The "Cell" also uses a PowerPC chip for its core processor.

No it doesnt. The GPU in the 360 has 10Mb of eDRAM (which no current ATI PC chip has) that lets it do 4X Anti-Aliasing (and some other framebuffer functions) with zero hit in performance. Desktop GPU's do not yet have this feature.

The PS2 has the "Emotion Engine", it has ntohing to do with directX.
The Xbox was built around directx 8.
The PS3 uses openGL ES and nvidias Cg environment(something $ony likes to call PSGL), again, no directx
The Xbox 360 uses DirectX 9+ (I say Plus as it has some directx 10 features.
