2 years ago I thought the Raiders were on their way back to being competitive and then Jason Campbell got hurt and they gave up 2 first round draft picks for Carson Palmer and that killed them.
I take it this has already appeared here somewhere.
I've always been intrigued by American Football. Primarily because players seem to spend more time off the pitch than on it and feel the desire to wear helmets. Enjoy the offseason.

It's just an extra time out because it's nearing the end of the half or of the game. Usually the last two minutes is where you either see the team that's trailing hurry things up to get a score, or the team that is leading try to waste as much time on the clock as possible.

Wow, no one has noticed any of this stuff before, you are a visionary!
Ironically, the helmets and pads lead to bigger hits (awesome) and worse injuries (not good). It's the same reason boxers wear gloves: they can hit harder without worrying about hurting their own hands/heads/etc. You know, you get a douchebag like "In rugby they don't wear pads!" but they don't hit nearly as hard either.
