Yahooooooooo! quotes the Washington Post that says it is his ACL and LCL. Yikes. Shifty Snyder, you must improve you field! I can understand it if D.C. United played there (for the early part of the season), but to have that issue in the postseason? Goodness. This just sucks for him and 'skins fans.

Kirk Cousins is spelled with a C in cousins, not a k. It will be the KC show in DC for 2013 and 2014. If Redskins fans really want a mobile QB from the state of Texas, ...................... Heisman trophy winner Johnny Football is a few years away. In the meantime, Heisman trophy (non) winner Vince Young is ready and waiting....he'll give you 400+ yards passing and 4 INTs in the same game.

This is worse than Adrian Peterson's injury. Peterson came back from an ACL tear in 9 months. This is both ACL and LCL. His career HAS to be in serious trouble.

This means that Mike Shanahan will be coaching in Washington for AT LEAST long enough for RG3 to return. Given that he may have ruined a player's career (in his first year), his conscience should dictate that he stay with the same organization AT LEAST long enough to return that player to his fans.

BTW, the fans should be more than a little irate about this. It's taken the Washington Post long enough to play the blame game:

This sort of article should have come out yesterday (Sun night), even before the full details of the injury were known because the sight of the damage was already permanently engrained on our brains by then.

It does not look good, his knee is so f'd up they cant even read the MRI so they need to do exploratory surgery just to find out how bad it is. I have heard that there may be damage to the pcl also which would be a killer. There was a report from a local source last night that within the team people are saying RG and Shanny knew the knee was an ACL injury to begin with and he has been playing on a torn ACL and just didnt want anyone to know. Its gonna get ugly when they finally release the extent of the injury.

So slight ACL and LCL tear. Damn.

It's only slight! Phew, that's good.

Jk. How long will he be out for? I don't watch NFL but have been reading about this and it seems quite ridiculous. Bad management.

Best case is probably 9 months, Adrian Peterson came back after 6 months but he had no cartilage damage so his ACL tear was very clean, they say cartilage damage can really make the injury much worse. We will see what Dr Andrews says today after the scope.

To be honest, this is the sickest injury I have seen in a long time. I can't get that image out of my head. Such a shame really.

Yeah, he's pretty much fucked. Hope Shanahan gets sued if he misses what is expected he'll miss.

The doctor on the Washington sidelines now says that he did not have a chance to examine RG3 so when Shanahan assked him if the player was ok, he conveyed to Shanahan that he was unable to examine him and so presumed that he was okay. The doc then went on to defend Shanahan.

I imagine that it's now going to come down to both these guys patting eachother on the back saying they did as much as they could. In other words, let's both cover eachother's rear end in this.

RG3's injury is pretty run-of-the-mill. Certainly it was no Willis McGahee or Joe Theisman injury. It's disgusting because he was put in such danger being already very obviously hurt.

RG3 also blew out that knee his second year at Baylor.

Yeah and Dr. Andrews reported they used a rubber band and screws to fix his prior acl tear so it needed to be completely redone. According to some in the local Washington media Robert was playing with a partial LCL and ACL since the Philly game but the team tried to hide that information. We will see if its true as Im sure all this crap will come out in the wash.

Not sure if anyone is interested in what actually happens during ACL reconstructive surgery but this could be interesting to some.

Niners lost Justin Smith to a torn muscle and their pass rush looks almost neutered. I'd be surprised if they're not underdogs. If Brady's onslaught on that almost-comeback is any indication, Niners can't hang with elite QBs.

Edit: apparently he might still play. The fuck? Well, I don't think he'll be as effective with a torn muscle.
