NK one problem I noticed that happens every once and a while is a glitch where the players kick the ball and it doesnt go anywhere. It just goes about 1-2 yards and stops. I will reinstall the mod and let you know.

I had this once in awile with the previous 2 updates as well. Had to quit the game and restart. It seems to happen by total fluke, dont know how you would debug that one.

in the next update the ball physics will be different, as in more realistic/slower pace.

However, I have gone through the physics and changed a few values that could affect these problems (iron them out)

I noticed one with throw ins, in which the cpu player threw the ball and it didn't go anywhere. I believe I have fixed this as I haven't seen it since then.

So lets hope that's got rid of the other bugs.

I think the shooting is fine. The power/positioning needed for different types of shots does need to be re-learned by those finding it difficult. I'm still learning it myself, but pretty goals are still very much possible and ever so sweet when thay do come.

Awesome job again NK! I played a couple of games on World Class with X-R and all I can say is 'Bravo'. Shooting is great when u get used to, Keepers are now more balanced and Difficulty is well ranged I think. If there is a thing that needs to be tuned, it should be the 'midfield battle'. IMO, realistic game is when both teams fight for the midfield and when teams shot average par game are below 10. I don't want the cpu shoot less but gimme more headaches in the midfield, quick tackles, high pressure. Hope you get my point !

Ater some more matches i have improving my shoot abilities but i still think that the shooting needs some tuning.

The shoots in the area goes too high even if they were made by top players like Drogba, Etoo etc.

And the long range shoots goes most times too far from the goal even with the good players.

I have a game where CPU has 16 shoots but only 4 goes to the goal.

I can hit the target if i am in front of the goal but if i try to shoot for the right or left of the goal the ball goes very far from the goal everytime.

In the next version the shooting will have a lot more range for lower and higher shots, but in terms of directing the shot, it WILL be harder I find it too easy in X-R to get close and smack it home, there should still be a 'wits battle', very much between striker and keeper. Pressure is important.

Just because you shoot with Ronaldinho doesn't mean you shouldn't have to try or compose yourself. Each player has set attributes and some are obviously better at striking the ball than others, but no matter what, even in reality...you have to try.

But yes, more range and harder directing. so you could miss terriblly, or miss by an inch.

I had to cut my halfs down to 6 minutes with the last update because shot totals were in the 20's for both sides (with 8 minute halfs)

a player is about to take a freekick but the referee is standing right behind the ball... can u fix this situation? in addition, can u write scripts for the referees and linesmen? i mean when the ball is out, the linesmen will flags up, so the referee will blows his whistle accordingly. players and ball can hit (collide) them too...

Also, the biggest downfall Fifa has is, and I dont think NK can fix this--nor am I asking, is the restart of plays during set plays and throw ins. In real football, sundry goals are scored via catching players off guard, and you cannot do that if the players are all waiting. Fifa might want to look into that.

How are you guys finding free kicks? Im finding them impossible. Any power above a tap and the ball goes over the bar. And if you just tap it, it floats in on goal and the keeper has no trouble. Any advice?

True, this is something I have no power over. Hopefully EA will include this in 08.

Free kicks are probably too hard in X-R. I'm making it more realistic and more possible in the next update

But you can still score, I have. But yes, it's very rare and in the modern game football quite a few goals are scored during free-kicks and other dead-ball situations. So this will be sorted, guaranteed.

A great point, and if I might add I find it a problem that there is no movement at all off the ball from free kicks or corners. EA really should incorporate some AI movement/runs in anticipation of free kicks.

Free kicks are probably too hard in X-R.

I dont mind them being hard to score on, but I think they were just about perfect in X-Pro. I scored some absolutely crazy bending goals.. maybe a few too many, but they sure were fun to score on. Also, it bugs me that the CP U can take very powerful free kicks and the user cant (this is true even with stock gameplay). Im talking regular mid to high shots, not the low L1 shot which is 99% useless.

I love the free kicks... had a about 5 from 20-30 yards out and have gotten 2 beautiful goals out of them and another 2 forcing the keeper to save and 1 firing into the wall. I'm loving X-R even more than X-Pro! Thanks NK for these awesome gameplays.

Great patch as always! Nothing to complain about so far. (just a few games played).
