This 9mb download contains the file required to fix the crash bug after a match is scored using V6 2006 FIFA World CUP ™ update. Unzip the files and place them into your data folder in the main 2006 FIFA World CUP ™ directory.

italy, install v6 for fifa 06 and in the program files/ea sports/nkfootball there should be a wc version there called 06Worldcupupdate.

Haha, well the V6 WC06 update was more of a conversion, whereas V8 is created both through FIFA and world cup, but based on the same values. This means that V8 for 2006 FIFA World Cup ™ plays so much better! I'm playing on Semi-Pro. Beat paraquay 1-0, trin & tab' 1-0, then drew with Sweden 1-1. Next game is knock-outs with Germany. Yes I am obviously using England! It's lots of fun. But I am very glad you guys can now enjoy V6 2006 FIFA World Cup ™ update. Enjoy!!!!

MY GAME CRASH BEFORE START THE MATCH!!!!!...how can i uninstall again this patch?

Might be an issue with language support or other patches installed that originally altered the file the patch changes, thus making the game unable to load the match.

If you have access to the original game CD, then copy and paste these files off the CD and into the 'data' folder found in the main directory;

*fifa.fat
*zdata_08.big
*zdata_08.bh

Obviously I must be using a version that doesn't support your game language, either that or you've installed something that needs the files and mine are different so the game has crashed. The only thing you can do is replace these files with the ones off your 2006 FIFA World Cup ™ DVD.

it is a conversion of the gameplay for FIFA 06 (V6). V6 makes the game more realistic, hence the conversion to the World Cup game will have a similar affect of slowing the game down and giving a more realistic edge. It also makes it more challenging.

I would atleast like to get my commentaries fixed, don't really mind if german or english, would prefer english more, anyone know how this can be fixed?

If you have the CD, then copy these files into your data folder;

*fifa.fat
*zdata_08.big
*zdata_08.bh

This will fix the issue if you are using a German language installation.

the V8 for World Cup doesn't have any problems or overwrite the files in the fix, so you will have no crash issues whatsoever

I do play PES5 and although V8 is packaged and ready to be uploaded this Friday, I have JUST made a breakthrough with the FIFA 06 gameplay and discovered a way to slow it all down, part of it been ball gravity, but also removing certain variables, which has left the game with about the same speed ball physics and play as Pro Evo 5 on PC, not ' same gameplay', but much closer to the PES speed of game, well on my PC anyway. It is playing quite deliciously! lol. I'm not sure if this new found gameplay for 'increased tactical play' will be put into V9 or a seperate 'special' update, say a V8:Add-on. either way it's harder and slower and building up play takes longer and the defence is the tightest it has ever been. More news on this later. But I do keep PES and FIFA seperate games. They are individual in their own right, but if FIFA does so happen to edge itself towards the PES gameplay be this by EA SPORTS or updates by NK FOOTBALL © then so be it! Cause it'll be more interesting to play.
