here is the question i ask to EA Support Centre.....

i asked
i already do all the step you guys wrote in the support centre, but i still can't see the name and number of the players in-game, please fix this problem for us, please.......say, when you guys gonna to fix this? i use RIVA TNT2 M64, graphic card.............

EA Response (Jody)
Hi Tan,

After some additional testing we have found that the video card you are using is not able to display the shirt number. This is because the video card you are running the game on does not support Hardware Transform and Lighting. Updating the drivers for your video card is the only thing you can do to attempt to get the game running.

I hope this helps.

Best Regards,

Jody

Just to make it clear..

What goes for the TNT2 M64 goes for the Regular TNT2 cards as well since a TNT2 M64 is one with a 64-bits (hence the m64 name) memory interface instead of 128-bits on the regular TNT2.
Both have no T&L.

But why writes EA in the read-me that the TNT 2 is supported?
When they say that, we should be able to see all the details!!!
And why is it impossible to view the numbers without this light-thing? In the other FIFAs it was possible, too (ALSO FIFA 2002 WC)!:f***:

I had the same problem with the RIVA TNT2 but last friday (8 november) I bought a new videocard: GeForce 4 mx440 and this is an really good card and now I can see the numbers and names, so my suggestion: Buy a new videocard and your problems will be over :D

why should we have 2 buy a new graphics card just 2 b able 2 see the names and numbers?
EA should just make a patch 4 us so we dont have 2 waste any money

Just my luck! Oh well, I have the PS2 version.

But seriously guys, is the Nvidia card that bad!?!?!?! I always thought it was an expensive card...the tnt2 m64.

Is is soooo out of date, or is it just not compatible with Fifa, but a good card nonetheless?:(

It's a 5 generations old card. Before Geforce 1,2,3 and 4 (and soon nV30) there was the TNT2, and the TNT2 M64 is the budget version of it. It has only half the memory bandwith of the original TNT2.
The card is really really slow for modern games and isn't Dx7 compliant and doesn't have T&L so adjusting games to support this card without really bad framerates is a pain in the butt for gameprogrammers.
