No rules soccer

Well technically it wouldn't be soccer but this is what the sport of taking a ball past a line would look like with no rules.

This is a trailer. You can find the documentary on youtube, I haven't seen it yet.

Why would it be illegal? Everyone in the game signs a consent form. As long as no one dies there's no reason to prevent it.

I didn't think you were allowed to give consent to partake in things that violent

I see no one in the video punching someone in the face. I hope that it's allowed. Maybe they're not doing it to conserve energy. One team should just beat up the other team and then walk the ball to the other side.

You can consent to pretty much anything except death, and even some places are changing that now with assisted suicide laws.

I mean in terms of not being able to sue the other person. But basically you have to specifically outlaw everything you want to outlaw for criminal law.

So assault it is up to the victim to persecute but murder is not? Where's the line?

I'm confusing it. It is clearly a battery (technically different from assault), but there are defenses including consent. When a person voluntarily puts himself in this game it can very easily be argued that they have consented to get the **** beat out of them. Think of it this way: if you could get charged for beating up someone in this game, then you could also get charged for winning a boxing or MMA fight. That example shows how absurd it would be.

There are limits though; courts have usually held that someone can't consent to getting killed, but even then in some circumstances as long as the boxer plays by the rules they probably won't get charged. If someone in this game brought in a knife, that's probably illegal. Also, lawmakers make exceptions, for example duels are illegal even though both parties clearly consent to whatever harm may occur.

But getting back to the original comment you made, this is probably just a sanctioned event in Florence akin to an MMA fight.
