O-Edit Tips

I think that if we are able to share tips on O-editing we will make the face scene much better. here are Two contrasting POV's on how to make better O.files.

Argument #1.

Which is better, point by point manipulation of the dots, or using the Scale and Move funtion with several points at once?

Argument #2.

Do you First manipulate the Face with the texture loaded or wait until the face is finished to load the texture?

Any other tips are appreciated!

Thanks to my artist brethern who make the game better for all.

#1 - i use a mix of the two to get the best result

#2 - i put on a basic texture and 'manipulate' the 3d face and develop the texture as i go along to make it fit best with the 3d face

Great tips brother,

How do you manipulate the mouth without screwign up the teeth?

i tend to leave the mouth alone apart from making it bigger and smaller and then i select the area and use the scale thing ;)

The key thing is just to keep at it, it took me along time to get reasonably good with o-edit. Just takes ALOT of practice and remember to UV MAP!

Excellent advise, I appreiate, and I bet others do too!

Is there a way to make the UV Map zoom in? Its rather tiny sometimes.

You can make the window of the uv map editor bigger (by clicking on the border of the window and move) then the pic gets bigger too.

I always use uv map first to adjust my texture and then I edit the shape.

Great tip Steeveman! Thanks!

I am curious about the order you usually edit the faces. This is how I do it.

1. Get the tex. loaded, then map it.
2. Scale the Head to a closer shape.
3. Scale the Nose " "
4. " " eyes
5. Mouth
6. Jaw area
7. fix the tex.
8 repeat.

How do you do it?

Thanks, my face is looking less like Kim Jong Ill and more like Hidetoshi NAKATA!!!
