a bit off the topic but, I'd like to convert *only* sound from a video file. which software should I use and how can I do it, any help would be appreciated.

I used Virtual Dub for it
I remember I liked a music from one movie somewhen and I recorded the whole audio track from it in that way :crazyboy: 48 Mb mp3

I opened the video file in winamp and I converted it to a wav file. You can do that whit: options/ preferences / output
