OFFICIAL : Michael Owen to Real Madrid

Superstar
Pointless signing by Real, it seems like they want to compete with Chelsea to see who has the best strikeforce

Real:
Ronaldo
Raul
Morientes
Owen

Chelsea:
Kezman
Drogba
Mutu
Gudjohnsen

Chelsea > Real

You guys are dumbasses.

Madrid bought Owen because they missed out on Vieira, now they have an able replacement for the holding midfielder role.

I believe Owen can surpass the likes of Gerrard and Gattuso as a defensive midfielder, I always thought his talents were wasted as a striker.

Excellent, excellent signing for Madrid, Camacho and Perez are smart guys.

LMFAO you must be joking, when did Owen ever play as a defensive midfielder before?

I'd have to disagree. What have those players done that is better than the strikers of Real?

Ronaldo - Explanation needed???

Raul - Champions league all time top scorer, goal scoring threat in one of the top leagues on a consistent basis (apart from last season), performs well on international stage.

Moro - proved he can score goals anywhere in any league, performs well on international stage.

Owen - Consistent 20 goal a season average in a tough league, performs well on international stage.

Kezman, Drogba - Top scorers in lower ranked leagues. Done nothing on international stage. Untested in tougher league.

Mutu - was good in italy, done nothing in England and failed to meet expectations.

Gudjohnsen - I like him, does well for Chelsea when given a chance. Done nothing on international stage.

Real > Chelsea. :rockman:

Well that's totally unfair to say Gudjohnsen has done nothing on the international stage and hold it against him, he's from ICELAND for God's sake!

Yeh, as i said i like him. But its true and i know that.

Dont get me wrong i rate all of those mentioned players.

Same theory applies for Drogba and Kezman too. They are the only major stars for their respective countries.

Kezman will rock the Premiership, for sure.

Kezman has done superbly well at PSV, like Van Nistelrooy. But this time Kezman has a whole lot more support than Ruud in the EPL. So I guess he will become better than Ruud

I disagree.

Kezman and Drogba are unknown quanitys at top flight while Ronaldo, Raul and Morientes are legends and one of the best in the world at what they do.

But in time we will be the best :)

I think Camacho will play Raul as an AM, and Ronaldo and Owen as strikers. Morientes...meh they'd better sell him.

thats a strange move.. now who are the strikers for liverpool?

also regarding that bulls comment, there is no way one man can win a team sport, yes he dominated but would of lost many games without the supporting help of pippen, armstrong, grant, kerr, "the worm" rodman, longley.. and the rest all play a part, its a team sport so a team will win the game, lakers and pistons in the nba finals were a good example.

Useless signing!!

Owen is a very good forward but Peres only signed him to cover the failures of the deals with Ricardo Carvalho and Vieira.
