he Philippines joined Vietnam in protesting against revised Chinese passports by not stamping on them that might legitimize China’s nine-dash line territorial claim over the West Philippine Sea, the Palace said on Wednesday.

“The Philippines, through the DFA ‘will no longer stamp its visas on the Chinese e-passport. Instead, the Philippines will stamp it on a separate visa application…in order to avoid the Philippines being misconstrued as legitimizing the nine-dash line’ claim of China,” Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda said in a text message to the media on Wednesday.

Vietnamese authorities refused to stamp Chinese passports featuring a map that includes disputed islands in the West Philippine Sea as Chinese territory.

Vietnam instead issues visas on a separate piece of paper fearing that stamping visas in such passports may indirectly recognize Beijing’s claims to the disputed territory.

Like the Philippines and Vietnam, Taiwan also severely criticized Beijing for the inclusion in the newly revised passports of an outline of China that includes the entire South China Sea, hemmed in by dashes.

The Palace also welcomed the decision of the United States to discuss the new map with China which created a diplomatic row among countries having territorial disputes with that country.

China printed in its revised passport the country’s new map that stakes claims to the whole of South China Sea and many other disputed areas. The US said it hasn’t endorsed China’s revised passport containing the controversial map.

In a press conference in Malacanang, Lacierda pointed out that the Philippines will continue to insist its position, as he expressed the belief that putting a new map on China’s revised passport wouldn’t affect the country’s claim in the West Philippine Sea.

“Our position has been amplified by the President in ASEAN and we see no reason why it should weaken our position,” he said in reference to suggestions that recognizing the new Chinese passports might impact on the country’s claim.

China has a longstanding claim over the West Philippine Sea in its entirety, though parts of the waters are also claimed by Taiwan, Vietnam, Brunei, Malaysia and the Philippines,

A major sea lane for international trade and commerce, the West Philippine Sea is believed to be rich in natural gas and mineral deposits.

Shaw's views led him to become a very vocal supporter and apologist for Stalin and the Soviet Union, accepting money and luxury treatment in exchange for defending that monstrous regime in the west and largely causing foreign journalists to ignore or not to notice horrible genocides such as the Ukraine famine which was going on concurrent to his living it up at Uncle Joe's expense, so dont take his views on things like this too seriously.

Ok china started messing with us about a few years back when the us base in zubic was terminated so all us navy ships soldiers were forced to leave so now that US left the chinese had the freedom to go to the west philippine sea cause there wont be any us warships wondering by . And what made it worste is when our past president gma made a joint exploration with the chinese and discovered that the scaraborough shoal is filled with lots of oil reserved underneath it and the amount of oil reserves in it is enough to pay all of our governments debt so thats alot and we really need that but the chinese of course wan it too so they started theyre claim to the west philippines sea. They even catch endangered species, they bring a fleet of fishing vessels protected by chinese destroyers making us helpless because we only have 3 destroyers in total so we can risk provoking war now. So now all that changed when our exploration vessel got harrased by chinese warships and that started the dispute we ofcourse the smaller country brought it to the un which we are so in favored because the scaraborough shoal is in our ezz zone while its way beyond chinas . So its not hard to see the obvious here china is claimaing our land with out a legit proof that its theres . So my wish right now is that my countries government let the us army stay here again make the us make more bases more navy shipyards cause the us is our only hope in this i mean if we will have a war with china we are so gonna lose but if we have us on our seas of course china will think trice before provoking after all the United States of America aint called the most powerful and the greatest nation for no reason

In a nutshell, what you're saying is that since this dispute over a patch of seemingly useless sea area will ultimately spill out into war to settle it, China will annihilate your country unless the US got involved?

Why would they want to help you with military when they're already helping with your poverty? What do to the Philippines offer that they would want in return?

And before you think the USA is all mighty and powerful, did you know the US owes China $1.2 trillion in debt? That's $1,200,000,000,000.

Now that you're aware of this, would you think the USA really want to piss off the nation whom they owe the most amount of money to over something as insignificant as a dispute over sea ownership which they have no interest in?

If China waged war with you tomorrow, the UN may say it's wrong, just as they did about the US invasion of Iraq. Will anyone intervene? Not likely. Why would the US, Japan, or any other nation spend millions of dollars, and utilise their servicemen and women, whilst pissing off China...
