Is it possible to change the players names to english and how do you do it, or do I have to wait for the english patch?

changing names to English

To change names to Western characters:

1. Go to editing mode.
2. Once in editing mode, pick the first option.
3. Select the flag of the team you want to edit.
4. Select the player you want to edit.
5. Pick the first editing option.
6. Once you do this there will be a Japanese alphabet in the far right box. Just to the left of that box is the box where you select which alphabet to use.
7. Western characters is either the second or third option down. Once you click on this the alphabet the box to the right will change to western characters
8. One really good feature is that once you change a players name on the national team, his name will also change on his club team, and vice versa, i.e. Change Beckham on England and he will also be changed on Man Utd. This is also true if you change something, for instance I gave Beckham some hair.

Note:
Use similar principles to change the team names in team editing. Choose the same western alphabet and you can change the "smaller team name" that appears in formation editing, etc. in addition to the "Larger Team name" that appears at team introductions...just to make things a little easier.

Justin

Thanks for the response. I guess this is going to take a while to do. Have you done all the teams yet or do you understand Japanese?

Can you change the teamnames and shirts of international teams?

Can you play a custum league with 16 human controlled teams?

Thanks in advance!

I hear there are 40 players available for teams to use. I use the USA and I can't find the rest of the players. Can someone tell me where to find them. They don't have Brian McBride in the top 22 and I actually think they have 23 players available.

Edit Help - Editing Clubs

Hi ppl,

a simple question about editing. In PES one could not edit the players in each club, meaning for instance, if I created 11 new players from scratch I could register them as part of a national team but I could not, in any way, register them as replacements for players in clubs.

Is it possible now, in WE6 to replace the players on a particular club with other or I still have to kill national teams to make my edited clubs?

thanks,

Mauras

Yes, u may edit all the club teams in WE6. So u may change all the teams and players into domestic leagues: EPL, La Liga, Serie A.......It will take a long time to edit though. Be sure u save another option file in case u want to go back to the original base copy. One interesting thought... if u change Beckham (alter all his looks, attributes and special skills etc) in to a different player, would he still make that trade mark arm swinging when taking freekicks? My thinking is yes. Same thing if u change a Roberto Carlos........so it would be quite strange.

to Nwankwo, unfortunately international team names, kits and flags cannot be changed.

Cheers

problem w/ saving!

becanes - i think the 40 roster members only apply to club sides. int'l teams only have 22-23 available for selection. is that what you meant when you asked about where the other players were?

also, can anybody tell me: where do i go to save?!?! i had it on auto-save (i think) at first, but it seemed to be saving every little thing, and filling up my mem.card, so i turned it off. anyone know where you go to manually save, i.e. edited players, names, teams etc? b/c i can't seem to get it right and i keep having to re-edit again and again :(

should i just leave it on auto-save? will it eventually stop saving EVERYTHING?

thanks a bunch,

Saving - Very good question

Thanks on the edit reply and about Saving.. darn good question...

I see many possible options in both the Edit menu and the Game Options menu, but in the end I don't have the slightest idea if I'm saving or not... where is the proper menu? (give as a path plz).

i don't get it why no one has managed to give a proper menu translation... It's essencial for us to have a thoroughly translation of the edit and game option's menus all the way or it is unplayable and uneditable...

I see many "Edit Menu - you can find edit player, register, bla bla.." translations but that doesn't help a dime. What is needed is a nice translation about all menu options well...

... I guess the jap guys are too busy playing to translate for us anyway :)

olewole: Yeah that's what I meant about the number of players.

I am going to try to figure out this saving thing for you guys. I have gotten mine to save but I need to retrace my steps to be able to explain it. If you want you can just go through the option file which I think is the last option on the main screen. Just keep hitting the different options and once you see it saving you know it's the right one. That's pretty much what I did. Also check out this site www.geocities.com/kcetwinning6/. This won't help with saving yet, but there are some translations of menus there.

a temporary solution...

thanks for the replies, guys.

becanes - thanks for the link. i've been to that site, and i think i've found something.

not sure if this is just for your game options, but in the 'options file', i've found that the third option, just above the two at the bottom that have we5/we5fe in their name, is to save (your options at least!) again, i don't know if this means it will save anything you edit (teams, players, etc) or just your sound options and that.

also, be careful, because the one just above that is to load. so if you choose that one by accident, it's bye bye to whatever changes you've made since your last save.

btw, i've just gone and turned the auto-save option back on for now. it seems to have stopped eating up the space in the mem.card, thank goodness. i've still got all the edits i made last night to the rosters, which is fantastic after having to re-edit all those times :)

but again, i'm still not certain about manual saving for edits and such.

if anyone finds out, please post! i'll keep looking in the mean time.

later

To those who have the game can you confirm the following :-

1. Can you alter the Controller Set-Up AFTER the game has started.
2. Does Bad Weather effect the game play more realistically / Do the players become more fatigued etc.
3. Can you control the ball better near the touch line - In ISSPE2 you could slide to keep the ball in, in PES I've never been able to do that.

Thanks.

To answer your question

1) Nope!!! You cannot change the set up from Player1 -> CPU -> Player2 and vice versa in the in game setting. I think someone in Konami screwed up here. I think they forgot to retain that feature during the programming process. Otherwise, why would they think of such small details as to the L1 Switching speed, 8 levels from manual to semi auto. But at the same time take out another feature in the controller setting which is much more important. It's definitely a production flaw IMO. I wrote to them about it. There was another thread on the related topic recently

http://www.soccergaming.tv/showthread.php?threadid=38595

2) didn't notice much difference except for the speed of play. Slower in rainy condition

3) i notice that the players can slide further. I don't have the skill to do what you mentioned though :)

Thanks for the reply.

I'm not sure if the first part of my few questions was clear.
All I need to know is :-

In PES if i'm playing as a team with a friend and forget to change the 2nd controller before i start the match i have to exit completely and start again because there was no option in the menu after the game had started - If this a tournament and we've been playing for a few hours it's very frustrating.
The only other option was to save after every game.
Can you change the controller over after the game has started?

Thanks.

1. haha, still no. I know what you are talking about, me and my buddy have set up tournaments so many times and then we forget to move the controller over and we gotta start all over. I think it's to prevent people from switchign teams adn scoring on themselves, then switching back. It's annoying for 2 player people though.

2. The ball skips more and the gameplay seems to be affected by bad weather. i think it's potrayed well.

3. You can slide and boot it or control it. Sliding length seems to depend on some attribute, im not sure, but good players seem to generally be able to slide farther.

All in all this game is f-ing amazing.

one thing i can't figure out though is saving my roster changes. I've edited arsenal about 15 times to find it not work when i restart my machine.

oh well, hopefully the english patch is on its way.

no problem.

One question still remains:

Why the **** is Quintin Fortune rated so well and why is he on the world all-star team?

lol! i couldn't beleive his stats either. but i guess it's no prob. if you love man united. he works well as a defender when wes brown is stinking it up or when you want to pack w/ a 5th defender.

also, i've personally found the rainy weather to be hugely influential. i played two successive 15 min. matches between england/ usa. the first match was in the rain, with the final being 3-1 to england on two stars(very messy match). the next match was clear, on two stars again, and the final was 10-1! owen had a hat-trick after the first 22 minutes!! however, this could have also had something to do w/ me changing the crowd and commentary to favour england, as i've read that the crowd support can affect the attitude of players if they're being boo'd/cheered.

Try to turn on the Auto save function (first one in the option menu) or the Option file save (3rd one in the option file menu)

Can the patch fix the controller issue, i thought it is only a translation patch (excuse my knowlege on patches, never done it before)
