Oh, my God! So many people still play FIFA 2003!

To help or hinder?

Personally, I don't hate EA Sports. I love John Madden Football by EA Sports and every year the game has got much better in graphics and gameplay. It's a great product.

I'll continue to buy every John Madden game each year but this is the last FIFA I will ever buy. EA Sports have screwed over people this year with the gameplay. They've exceeded themselve graphically but in terms of gameplay, it sucks big time. Come on, not being able to freaking header the ball unless a CPU player is up your butt is a joke. One that EA Sports refuse to even bother releasing a patch for.

Part of praising Konami on here and degrading the EA Sports FIFA series is to spread the word to people and allow them to play and enjoy a real soccer game. Yes, a lot of people buy FIFA because they love editing but for those out there who want a soccer game to play soccer and feel like they are the ones playing it throughout the game, not the CPU then Konami is for them. PES2 and WE6 make the gameplay in FIFA 2003 look severely retarded.

EA Sports are a great company and their soccer series has unbeatable graphics but the gameplay is pure crap. If FIFA 2004 is fantastic then I'll get it, there is no bias. The problem is that FIFA 2003 had more bugs then every previous version of FIFA combined and EA Sports didn't want to make up for it with a patch. Their message was "screw you sucker, just buy FIFA 2004 and see if we've made any changes". I'm sure this is the last year that anybody believes that the demo isn't a replica of the full version. This time round, if the demo is buggy we know that it's gonna have the same crap in the final product.

Ask yourself this question: do you want improved graphics over this years version or improved gameplay? You sure as crap won't get both. If the FIFA fans don't petition EA to change then nothing else will work. Look forward to not being able to header the ball, the CPU taking over even more of the game, no creation center and more incompatability problems.

Just wanted to clear a few things up,

ISS3 is not "THE ****". It is an arcadey game made by KCEO.

Winning Eleven 6/Pro Evolution Soccer _is_ "THE ****". It is a brilliant simulation made by KCET.

Don't go buying ISS3 because you think that it is the game everyone has been raving about. More than likely, those people raving are playing PES2 or WE6, NOT ISS. If you are in the US, and want a good football game, skip the ISS series and grab Winning Eleven 6: International when it is released over there in a couple of months for PS2. Unfortunately, you will need the aforementioned PS2. For you PC players out there, let Konami know you want WE6.

By all means buy ISS3, if nothing else the sales will help make EA take notice, but DON'T go thinking it's a magical product. It isn't. It has bugs and flaws and little gameplay problems just like FIFA.

It may be better than FIFA or worse, that I can't comment on (only having played FIFA 2k3 demo and not having played any ISS except ISS2 for PSX).

Anyway, hopefully the message is getting around .. when I first got into soccer games I was lucky enough to first grab ISS98 for the PSX, and so have always known the brilliance of Konami's games, and never the disappointment of an EA release.

Tristan, I don't understand you at all. You chastise people for supporting FIFA and accuse them of being salesman, yet I'd swear you are on commission for these other games.

Nonetheless, I commend you on your promise to never buy an EA football game again. I think if you complain at the level that you and some of your colleagues do, you have basically given away any entitlement to buy the game. If you do, you are either hypocrites, idiots, or crackheads with short memory spans. If you hate the EA Sports FIFA series, don't buy it. But I guess your outlay of $50 entitles you to just enough information to pick up on the game's weak points and complain for the next 12 months. And obviously, you enjoy complaining more than you do playing the game.

I respect your decision to enjoy these other games like WE6. I will be sure and try them once they become available. Having said that, if you hate FIFA, if you think it's crap, if you won't buy it again, move on to another forum on the games you do like.

EA doesn't listen to this forum because it represents an extremist view of the game. In other words, it is a nursery for spoilt, immature babies. If I were on the EA development team, I'd take more pleasure in spiting the idiots in here than producing a good game.

So what's your motive?

Who are you to tell people what to buy? Do you think we're not bright enough to make decisions on how to spend our own money? Why are you a salesmen? Are you vain enough to think your own supposedly expert opinion means sweet f u c k all to the rest of us? Spread the word? Are you a preacher? Are you really in a position to tell consumers which game to buy to "enjoy a real soccer game." Don't you think a consumer without loyalty would read game reviews from real publications, or would they leap to your door to ask your diving opinion? I don't tell you to buy the FIFA series - I don't care what you buy, just don't buy FIFA if you hate it so much. It's just that I'll bet both testicles that you'll be complaining up a storm for another decade or so, and I can't bear it.

Sorry to pick on you, Tristan, but, in my opinion, you're one of the biggest idiots in here. Konami might get my support one day, but it certainly won't be a credit to your daily witless snotting and bawling.

I apologize for my remarks because you may only be 12 years old, and don't know any better.

let me put it this way for you, if EA does not give a F U C K about what their customers are saying then we won't give a F U C K about their product, simple as that. Have you heard of customer needs? I guess not. Just watch FIFA will go down, slowly but will go down if it continues like this. This forum will still have big hits, this forum is huge, they have ISS/WE/PES, soccer..... forums. Just because of people lost their interests in FIFA that does not mean that this forum will go down also. Common since my friend.....

What a pile of BS!

De Guzman,

Anybody would have thought I was calling your mom a "ho" or something! I put in another post that you'll notice how when die-hard FIFA fans defend FIFA they use cuss words, insult people and use no evidence of the games merits to make their point! CONGRATULATIONS - you fulfilled all three of my stereotypes!

Firstly, if I buy a product I am entitled to criticize it and your stereotypical "f*** off the forum" reaction is the same we've heard from everybody else who throws their toys out of the pushchair when their beloved FIFA is criticized.

Secondly, magazine reviews of FIFA 2003 are usually written soon after the games release after a few hours play and the majority of magazine reviewers aren't probably even deeply into soccer that much. It's only when you get deep into soccer games and frequently play them that you notice the bugs. No magazine review I read of FIFA 2003 ever even mentioned the heading issue but everybody knows about it. What does that mean then, that it doesn't exist because the magazines didn't mention it?

I think everybody on this forum who has played FIFA 2003 has a better idea of the pros and cons of the game then magazine reviewers who give it a scant play and then review it to meet the deadlines.

I have already said on various posts that the graphics on FIFA 2003 are phenominal and unbeatable, by Konami or anybody else. I buy other EA SPorts products and I think they are excellent. None of the points I've made about the gameplay in FIFA 2003 are incorrect. Others on here, even some of the hardcore FIFA 2003 fans admit them.

If this is the way you react when somebody has a difference of opinion to you on a free speech forum (it's not like I was discussing Metal Gear Solid or Need For Speed, I was keeping to the topic) then obviously you're theo ne who needs to grow up.

Rather than defend FIFA 2003 with any kind of back up whatsoever or valid points, your entire argument seems based around a character assassination of me and your labelling of me as a "salesman" and accuse me of calling others "salemen"! Any evidence of that or is it just more trash?

This forum probably provides the most balanced critiques of FIFA 2003 than any other forum, it's not extremist. There are people who both love and hate the game on here but as we've all paid $40-$50 for it we all have a right to our opinion. If you don't llike my opinions then don't read them and certainly don't bother cussing me out, writing long replys with ZERO evidence and nothing actually in favor of FIFA 2003 which I thought was your whole point of disagreement. It seems you don't have one other than with me in which case send me an email.

"Spread the word" means what it says! How is that "preaching"? A lot of people haven't played Konami and many have tried it on recommendations and loved the game. If I tell somebody a film is great, am I preaching or just passing on my opinion?

You need to take some calm pills and try a different approach. Calling somebody an "idiot" because they disagree with you is pathetic!
