Hey, what should the Aus starting 11 be like. I think:

BENCH:
Bosnich (if he's not depressed then, and lays off the coke:p)
Muscat
Cahill (if he's allowed to play again)
Murphy
Okon
Lazaridis
Agostino

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Agostino's not currently playing regularly and neither is Okon. Grella, Neil and Bresciano are all going to be important players in 2006, and should get to play in the first team. Kewell is better IMO at wing where he can dribble rather than a striker position.

i agree with your line up parra power ... but i have to disagree with one thing .. three at the back just seems a little small ... i think we need a flat 442 but then you have to bring in murphy who isnt quite their

and you can fu ck bozza off and bring in Didiluca who plays for Ajax .. and i was wondering is Ivan Ergic (Basle) Aussie ? because when he was at the glory i thought he was and now hes awesome and should feature if hes an aussie

GO AUSSIES!!

As an australian born i will go for australia!! Luckily they dont play my heritage(spain), cause we all know australia needs matches.

In saying that i say england win 1 or 2-0. Australia hasnt played together since 2001:kader:

However the way frank farina has spoken marco bresciano and vincenzo grella will get their chance. However i dunno if bresciano deserves to start, because he doesnt start for parma. I think u have viduka upfront with someone like aloisi, though he is not goin anywhere with osasuna!

The only real starters i can see are viduka, kewell, schwarzer, moore, emerton and skoko.
We probably need to start playing bosnar. He's young and has a chance to cement his place in the team, especially since we don't have any big time defenders that england does.

To win Viduka needs to hit the net. They need grella to complement skoko's game. Grella will most likely play just behind skoko, giving skoko more room to make something happen.

GO AUSSIES!!
I go for the british in rugby cause australia toot their horn too much about it, but DEFINATELY NOT IN THE WORLD GAME!!

Good news, pitty the game isn't going to be held in Australia, that would be awsome:rockman: But yeah it's great news for Soccer Australia.
Anyway as the post subjuct says above did anyone see the Aussie's take on France at the MCG last year?
It was a pretty good match, 1-1, and all the top players were there and all!!! Karembu (or howeva u spell it) Barthez, Lizarazu, Wiltord, and alot of other awsome players!!
I wen t with my friend and the atmosphere was awsome, even though we got absolutley drenched by the rain, there was french fans chanting "Allez, Allez"
Any way enough of me going on about that game, the match vs the Poms should be great!

Australia will never play a half decent team for a friendly in Australia again!... all the Euro clubs will bitch and whine about it! (like they did for the friendly against France - particularly Arsehole!)

That's almost IDENTICAL to Craig Foster's lineup from The World Game yesterday!... only difference is he had Moore as a sweeper

no it's not. he had tiatto and emerton as wing backs, bresciano and kewell as wide attacking midfielders and skoko as the only person in the centre of midfield. completely different formation

Ergic is an awesome player, and is Australia/Yugoslav or something.
He wants to play for Yugo though i think :(

It is a bit of a loss, but really CM is about our strongest position anyway, so i cant see where we could put him.

I am really struggling to settle on a lineup at the moment..

I think Grella needs to start, because now he is our best DMC, but having said that, we also want Bresciano AND skoko in the team....So where should we put them...

Maybe moving Emerton to RWB could be an option, leaving Bresciano at RM, but then ur leaving out Muscat, Vidmar OR Neill...

hmmm

I think i would probably go like this now:

GK-Didulica
LWB-Neill
CB-Moore
CB-Murphy
RWB-Emerton
DMC-Grella
LW-Kewell
RW-Bresciano
AMC-Skoko (C)
FC-Aloisi
FC-Viduka

Bench:
Schwarzer
Vidmar
Popovic
Muscat
Tiatto
Sterjovski
Agostino

(how many can we have on the bench? 5? 7? i dont think its been decided yet has it...)

hmm if only we could have Vieri :p Imagine Viduka and Vieri upfront together ;) :p

That lineup that Foster suggested is like Brazils WC formation. Not sure how aust would go with it, but if we did, I would use Neill as wingback, not Tiatto. That way we could include Muscat, moore and Vidmar in the Middle at the back ;)

What are you lot down under on?

You haven't got a cats in hell's chance of doing us 'ere.

You've got some decent players, I'll give you that, but nothing compares to St Michael, Becks and Rio.

3.0 to the English.

GET USED TO LOSING TO US.

IT'S GONNA HAPPEN A LOT MORE OFTEN!

Yeah, and Im sure France thought the same thing before their friendly against us last year (we BOTH had full strength lineups).
Maybe we had the Home advantage, but really, most of the Aussies will be right at home in England anyway, 90% of our team is based there ;)

England will of course be favourites, but im expecting a low scoring match.
Australia dont usually concede many goals (3-0 to Uruguay was different, we went all out attacking chasing 1 goal, and came so close to getting it!), but we also seem to struggle to score goals.

We'll see how things pan out ;)

Cheers
