How do you guys score when one on one?
whenever i got a little space ahead of the opponent defender, they can just easily speed up and tackle me.

I keep pressing the run key but still run like snail!! i am using owen and diouf... having 10 as their speed. how come! i never score a one on one situation.

the computer seem to have no problem in running faster than me.... why...huh.

the defender is suposed to run faster than you because you have the ball, so its dificulty to run super fast and at the same time control the ball.....

if u re assigned the default controls (which i did) the controls dont seem to save after u reload the game up even if u clikc save settings although if u look in the control menu u will see it how u want it it ownt actually b that way. So basically u have to re assign controls each time :(

yes...i noted the assigned key problem...
i used to change the running as similar to previous fifa titles - "w" to run. but because of it cannot save, so i force myself to use the "E" key to run.

It didn't seem to change anything... still very slow. but the problem that border me is the computer can running very fast when come to one on one. that make my defender so stupid and cannot match the pace to defend!!! luckily, they do missed in front of goal often.

i have the same problem ... now after a few days of it i have found changing the direction of the player with the ball. .. ie running in different direction when in possesion helps a little , but other than that i dont know

when running at defenders..vary ur pace..watch where the def is bound to turn and feint then push and sprint, use ur spacebar to tap and gain distance between the ball and urself..but dont keep tapping it as u will lose control easily..

All you have to do on a one on one is make sure the defender stays directly behind you after you pass him. Dont allow the defender to go along the side of your player .....to avoid him getting alongside your player, keep slightly changing direction in front of him so he cant get a good tackle. The defender will either give up when too far out of position or stumble ;)

well, i think is also depend on the difficulty level.
is hard to have an one on one goal at professional and world class. even if i changed direction or use space bar...

anyway, have to touch up my skill also... not to blame it on the game

you could try this too

when a defender is catching up with you
quickly pass the ball back to your own player
tap 'E' and pass the ball back to the first player, this would gain you a few precious yards in front

The higher level you play (Am/S-Pro/Pro/WC), the more difficult it is to win a 1-on-1 challenge. I don't see a problem. If you are not able to score, change the level to an easier one.

But I agree that there is a big gap between the S-Pro and Pro levels. I can win every game on the S-Pro level with a score 5-0 or more but never won a game at the Pro level :( My best result was 1-2 loose when played for Dormund agains Juventus

i spent my weekend practising the one-on-one skill. yes...i found out the "spacebar" special move skill is effective in running, but becareful of you shot, it will normally powerful and over the crossbar.

i also found that the "spacebar" move is useful when you wanna try to get away from the defender. I am practising using Liverpool, at professional level, i found that owen special move really come out this time, when i got the ball outside the box i will run wide to either side(left or right), until i got away from the defender. (but this is not 100% go thru one, just like in real game, sometime owen did it sometime not)

when you try to run wide, just keep pressing the spacebar and if you managed to get away from the defender, then you start to move into the box again to have a close-encounter with goalkeeper or pass.

is quite fun for me, although not scoring so often (again, i claimed that is much of realistic).

i think different player got different skill when pressing spacebar. Owen will push the ball in front and run (like what he does often), murphy will do a bit of stepping tricks while running, diouf will do the 360degree ..... gerrard is good in running thru middle ("spacebar") and shot just outside the box. i love it. just like liverpool team. again, i didn't say i am scoring in everymove, but certainly everyplayer is involved in creating chances. man..i sound like player fifa manager!

i am starting to win most professional matches, however, i encountered the defending problem now in professional mode. the defender is so "unalert"... they choose to watch rather then defend. guys...any comments.

my defenders also prefer to watch the ball then to tackle it
that is what EA called total ball control, you have to control every bit of movement of the players

I just played my first Professional difficulty match. It was a 6 min/half game in club championship mode. I was Real Madrid playing away to Borussia Dortmund. I won 5-0 and even had the EA assistant telling me I had mastered Professional difficulty.

That was the last thing I expected! (H)
