Operating system question

Hey, guys. I downloaded a USB driver program for my camcorder. Its operating system is Windows 2000. But I have Windows XP. So when I try to install this program I get an error that states that my operating system is wrong. Can you tell me what I can do to install my program? Is there something I can download to fix it?

seems odd... when it comes to drivers XP and 2000 are usually associated together.

must be there somewhere ....and it seems weird that xp and 2000 have different drivers !!!

Uninstall whatever you have on now.

With XP, it should just be plug and play.

Did you try the camcorders manufacturers website?

Uninstall driver via right click my computer>properties>hardware>device manager...

Then try windows update site custom >programs "see if Microsoft has driver for camcorder...

Try running the setup executable in compatibility mode:
1) Right click on your Setup exe, click on properties.
2) Click on the "compatibility" tab and tick the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" checkbox then select Windows 2000.
