original controler settings??

is there a way to preserve the original controler settings?
WTF with this BS that suddenly "call 2nd defender" is not avilable
(only in "new" settings)
and you can't adjust "S" button to be both pass ans switching player...
that some crappy change, only wanting to say "here... we've made changes".

so, someone is fimiliar with a way turning the "old" (fifa07 etc) contorlers settings?

1. haven't seen it, it's avilable only on "new" mode for me.
2. they messed up the configiration:
for example: I want "S" button to control both passing and changing player
but it can't be done, as those two actions now have seperate buttons.

for me i am having problem like this: in fifa07 i always do sometimes when a player is about to receive the ball i used to tap the shift button to make him accelerate into a free direction but in fifa08 it's now switching the gk just give yourself time to get used of this new controller settings. it's easier than before actually :mexican:

but how to open-i dont know.
i want to have my fifa07 controls-i want to use S to switch players because i got used to press S to switch players and now it is difficult for me play with new controls in fifa08.

it is opening in wordpad.but you can see the langauge-numbers are there+a little bit of english.try comparing devdata from 07 and 08.i am trying........

I replaced the devdata.dat file and it works fine. There is still the issue of the 'change player' button, far as i know you cant fix that one. Just make sure you replace the devdata.dat in your game folder as well as your MyDocuments\game folder.

replaced them both... still the same.
anyway...it's just take the fun out of the game.

as is still doesn't allow the "S" button to control both passing and changing player...

got FIFA08 installed, and didn't even statrted playing it
all because of that...

They also changed the finess and lob shot buttons. Cant understand why. The splitting the pass from the switch player button makes sense, but why some of the other changes. I cant complain about it like some of you guys though. Surely its just a case of playing at a lower level till you get used to the button changes.

they wanted to make fifa08 look different from fifa07 so they made some changes like changing date in manager mode
in fifa07 it was 1st jan 2007
in fifa08 it is 01/01/2007

I've changed mine succesfully (though the option of playing the keeper in 08 gave me a hard time to fix it for my controller) but i don't have the buttons the way you want em to be.
So,you'll have to try over and over again by changing the devdata and trying the game.It needs lots of patience. :/
