[P+R] Bayern München vs Ajax

ajaxforever

Senior Squad
Ajax played a good game against Juventus.
But they couldn't score a goal of all they're chances...:(

Bayern Munchen is not so good the last time, they make to many mistakes.

Bayern München vs Ajax will be a good game, one of these 2 teams becomes second I think... :)

I think it will be 0-2 for Ajax, and what do you guys think? ;)

well, i dont know where is the match going to be played, but if is in München, Bayern will win 2-1, since zlatan left ajax, i dont think it will be the same team.

I can still remember the last time our clubs met each other. After a 0-0 draw in Munich Ajax put 5 goals behind Kahn at the Amsterdam Arena. That was one of the most impressive performance I've ever seen.

However things have changed in the last couple of years and Bayern are now the favourites against the young guns.

We're not in a great shape at the moment but still winning the games so what will happen when all the players finally put it together and the team and the coach get used to each other? I've posted this before, I'm not sure it's going to happen.

No team has ever won by two goals at the Olympiastadion, doubtfully that Ajax could do it.

We've finally all players, including Ballack and Deisler, back on board so I expect a decent performance. Makaay is already as amazingly good as last year so he should score.

It's a must win game for Bayern. We could leave Ajax behind by 6 points after the second matchday. That's a great oppourtunity which we have to use.

I say 1-0 Bayern Makaay of course.

Oh man, that was ages ago. Good times, good times. [Compare the two squads from 1995 here.]

We had a very decent game against Juve and we should be able to beat Bayern easy. Just praying for an off-day for Roy.

Some news on Ajax: Grygera is injured, Mitea and Sonck are being saved for Tuesday. Rosales is still a question mark. Stekelenburg and Galasek are still out too. Both Rosales and Galasek will probably make the Bayern match.

What a squad Ajax had in 1995, something to be amazed, definately sweet....
but too bad for Ajax this is 2004, and Bayern have improved mountains. It will be a tight game but I think Ajax will respect Bayern too much thus play a very defensive game. If Bayern is smart, they will only play the counter because I know Ajax will do the same. If Bayern goes on an all out attack, there could be trouble. I hope Magath is smart to know that Ajax has a great defense, and that means the more preasure you put on their defense the better they are. So, the smart thing to do is to play from the bottom up to the top, in a countering way.

I will say Bayern wins 1-0. :mrpimp:

Haha we're not in 1995. :p The others can score, too. Ballack and Frings scored today, Pizarro twice last Tuesday.

Makaay never really has an off-day. He usually can barely see him in the game but then he's just there out of nowhere.

Piza, stop talking too much out of your ass.

Hmm. We played on the counter against Juve and I thought it felt very weird, very un-Ajax. We like to play our own game, but we adjusted ourselves to Juve (another very un-Ajax thing) and I can't say it was very effective but it wasn't bad at all. At the end, we just lucked out. One thing I don't think you're right on: that Ajax respects Bayern because of it's big name. I don't think that's the case (van der Vaart said something along the lines of "A German opponent is always fun"). We'll play cautious because it's an away game, but that's it.

Koeman can be surprising sometimes, so I'm not sure how he decides to play. We'll find out Tuesday. But I think Bayern's weak point is their defense and their buildup. From what I've seen (and I admit, it's not much, just scattered highlights) Bayern rely on luck and Makaay. They don't play their own game.

As for us, defense is our weakest point. We've got talent but it's simply not working out. Midfield is very solid (van der Vaart, Sneijder, [Galasek?], Pienaar) and the same goes for our offense. Yeah, we're missing Zlatan but he was never a finisher but an integral part of the system. We should play our own game, but perhaps Koeman can assign someone to Makaay, instead of playing zone defense. It's risky and different but who cares?

I'm predicting a close 1-1 draw for this game. I just can't really see a team dominating in this encounter and I'm sorta expecting a lot of counterattacking instead of open end footy.
