How exactly do we Get On Your Level? I've read these forums for ages now, and I still can't realise why people have a go at each other for a fooking computer game.

as far as I can gather, Nick's slated the game (which I wouldn't do ti' I've played the full game, but he's been around a while, and he's entitled to his opinion), and J J Okocha's had a go at Nick. Surely I can't be tho only one who likes both games, if you're not sure about it, rent it first, that's what I'm doing, if I like it, I'll buy it, if not, who cares, just a game, boys, it's ust a game...

Playing the game last night the commentator did say that the other team were getting ready to make a substitution, didn't pay too much attention if they did or not, but I am sure I have seen them make subs.

They do when you simulate a game, and this year it counts down the minutes with text telling you the highlights, like shots on goal, goals, saves, yellow & red cards plus substitutions for both teams and more than one in a game.

Listen, FIFA 2005, from the demo, certainly seems a much better game than t's been for a LOOOOONG time.

But hyperbole doesn't serve your cause. Most people who have played both games extensively find PES gameplay compelling, particular relative to FIFA historically...

There are good things about both games. I think the reviewer put it out well. The career mode is so much better than anything PES can offer.

To me, this is as much a part of the game as a corner setup. Managing a team throughout the years, training players and such are all part of football. So are set pieces.

I have played both FIFA 2005, and PES3, and some of PES 4 now, for a long time (FIFA 2004 before the demo came out).

I think the main problem most people have when judging the two games is that they seldomly give either a real go. You have to spend time and actually practive the game. Really try it out. Not just fire it up and play for a few minutes, or even an hour.

The full version of FIFA 2005 deserves that 89%. Not quite a 90s game, because of issues like the inflexible corner system, or some little glitchy other issues. Overall, as a football sim (which REQUIRES a management mode in order to be a true sim) is quite good.

Though I enjoy PES3 to the ends of the earth, there is something about this new FIFA edition which just puts a big grin on my face when I begin to play it.

im not sure pes3 is better then 04 but 05 can beat the **** out of pes3.
05 is not only about the "flicks" of first touch. the passing is way better. the shooting, the goalie animations etc.
pes used to b better in terms of gameplay till 2002 but those days r over.
