Graphics 8/10
Stadiums are looking perfect, player faces like Ronaldinho and Jouninho, Rooney, Van Der Saar, Del Piero, Ibrahimovic and oters are very good, some of the player s are not so good but this doesent low the overall quality of the graphics in game. Adboards are still in 128x64 pixels which is REALLY LOW QUALITY, 2GA Adboards [256x128] would be much more better and no more blurry logos..
Interface is pretty good, but ingame popups suck big time if you ask me... they're rip off from older FIFA's... Innovation is missing in this area, very much.
Ball textures could be better, again 128x128 pixels is too low, blurry balls are not so well, but they look ok from far away [and just far away]. Crowds is better, but still too blurry and not so good, i think EA should take a sneak preview of teammates in NBA Live and make crowd like that...

Animations 9/10
Animations are widely improved in new FIFA 07, they really look smooth and realistic, very good job!

Sound 10/10
This is the best part of FIFA 07 if you ask me, crowd is so good that you really feel like you're on the real battlefield and that's the right thing! Example, playing with Juventus [Serie B lol] you get your crowd sing when you score goal, when you are loosing match, they're BOOING and that can stimulate you to make it more harder and score few quick goals Excellent job in this area!

Gameplay is very very good, PES gameplay now looks scripted if you compare PES5 and FIFA 07 Then when you compare ball physics PES is now officially "out" ... Ball is not sticked to the players leg like in PES5, ball have it's own physic and movement, you can affect on it with right movements and right agression. Very good gameplay, after 3-4 matehces you'll feel like you want to play more, which wasnt case in FIFA 06

I disagree a little bit, I think the graphics are about 6/10 and I think overall the game is 8/10. I agree with you about the sound though, it rocks. Especially the crowd!

I think your giving way to much praise to it!

Knock the graphics and gameplay a couple of notches and you'll be right!

I've been playing in between FIFA07 and PES5 this weekend and the one I get the most out of is pes5, and that's flawed in it's own right.

Fifa's an ok attempt but just feels like 06 with a bouncing ball update, nothings been done with the passing, shooting, and selecting a player takes forever.

I think the 360 version should be the one to judge EA for as if they have written a new engine for that, then fifa 08 will have that implemented for the next PC version.

Hrvoje you need to stop being such a fanboy, and stop judging it with rose tinted glasses.

For me PES is still king in the main area Gameplay, I've tried with fifa but far to easy to score on world class and too many unacceptable bugs to really justify my purchase.

But it's still usefull for the Manager Mode, at least your not bothered with the gameplay problems in that! Which is quite fun.

True, but I scored a corker with Reyes this weekend, just over the half way line, and the ball bounced up and I hit it on the half volley, and the keeper was desparate to get back, and it just looped over his head!

It felt so realistic, and gave such satisfaction, because it's difficult to get right!

Not like in FIFA where you can be running away from goal and press shoot and the ball flie 100 miles an hour on target!

- Giggs actually looks like himself now, but many players look horrible or wrong (Saha) and too many to list here look identical to FIFA2004/05/06
- Adboards/balls are ugly.
- Whats with the yellow worn-out effect EA? I want to see the replay not imagine what it will be like 50 years from now. Make it black and white if you want to "age" it. Speaking of colour - the game looks VERY faded compared to Q4/Far Cry/Madden 07/AoE3/MVP 05. $2000 of PC hardware and hi-res monitors look like a** with this game. Won't use this as an in-store demo.
- Grass looks good. There is your 2 points EA.

Animations 1/10
- I will give you a point when I see more than one that wasn't in a previous version. (Scholes keeping the ball from Newcastle on a throw was funny -- too bad it was YELLOW!)
- You should be ADDING to what you have not sitting on them.

- Best part of this game is it sounds great.

Gameplay 5/10
- Someone mentioned lead ball. Better than the airball we used to get before a mod.
- Passing worse than before. Lead ball does not help. Its either a pea-roller or a mad hoof - no in-between strength pass. I want to make a 10 yard pass firm - not slow and bobbly.
- Shooting model seems off since 05-06 (maybe its me - dunno here)
- Free kick/corner model is horrible. NO idea where its going to go.
- Jostle is alright in my book. Thinking I would like Shearer in this game to throw an elbow or 3
- Keepers are HORRIBLE. Tips a great drive over the bar, but sits on his a** as a 15 yard header rolls between him and the post. Keepers let in waaay too many bad goals. same problem in NHL 2007 too AGAIN! How many years do you need to work in this issue?
- First touch control is either working or not - same with skill moves. My poor controllers right analog stick is taking a beating ... sometimes it works/sometimes it doesnt. WTF? (PC ver. Logitech Dualie for those who want to know)
- Who does EA's tactics? Having 5 players chase a forward to the corner flag is not my idea of defense.
- No one stays in position - LBs/RBs are ALWAYS caught towards the middle of the park and CBs towards the outside. Keeping mentality to defensive works it a little better but then little support going forward
- Diagonal runs are common in the modern game, why does EA program North/South runs for it then forcing us to make a diagonal pea-rolling pass.

3) Umm, how about you get your facts straight before you comment. (Been playing FIFA since it was known as FIFA International Soccer for Sega Genesis)
4) Practise is what I have been doing and will continue to do so. Does not change many aspects of the game.
5) Playing online does not change the behaviour of non-controlled players.
6) Dismissing reviews as nonsense because you disagree with them is not insightful or helpful to anyone. Post your own for us.

Here is what I would rate the game as.

Graphics - 6/10
Some are blatantly overrating the graphics in this game, others are underrating. I think a 6 does the current-gen versions justice. While the grapics aren't particularly eye-catching, they are a slight improvement on 06's but we must remember, the graphics on current-gen games probably won't get much better than what they are now. Wait until the 360 version comes out, then the graphical power of the game will come to light.

Animations - 8/10
I'm actually quite pleased with the new player animations, the players run, jog, stroll and jostle just like they do in real life. I'm also very pleased with how over-powering jostles will give away freekicks, too.

Sound - 9/10
Very impressive, nothing bad to really say about it. The crowds sound amazing and the commentary is top notch.

Gameplay - 7/10
While the game as a whole is actually quite good, the gameplay can become repetitive. The player switching seems to be unresponsive and has a certain lag to it, the goalkeepers are ridiculous and the AI could use a bit of tweaking. I'm pleased with the ball physics, it adds a certain realism to the unpredictablity of the ball. I'm also loving the amount of spin you can add on freekicks and corners. The finesse shot seems a bit difficult to get used to, and I'm yet to pull off the perfect shot. And finally the trick stick is a bit let down. I constantly find myself mashing my right analog stick to pieces trying to get the move I want to pull out.

Make of that what you will, those are my opinions on 07 as both a FIFA and PES fan before anyone calls me a fanboy of any sort.

that was just my honest review, you can disagree or agree with it I dont change my mind regarding the game itslef!

Agree with Hrvoje, but I can't give more than 6 for gameplay! Because of:
1. There are still scripted goals in Fifa!
2. Goalkeeper AI is disballanced - it is easier to score from far away, than from short distances.
3. AI is crap. Even Barcelona uses only crosses and long shots in attack. Where is through balls? Where is one-two's passes by AI????? . I'm playing full game on unlocked legendary level, and have played more than 100 games, by the way. (even in WC 2006 AI was more inteligent in attack)
4. I've only found 3 basic ways of scoring!
- Using long shots
- Using crosses
- Using "second" shots after goalkeeper reflects the ball.
And this kind of goals are 85% of goals scored by me.
Yes - ball physics are good, may be better than in PES. But EA still can't put things together, to make this game totaly unscripted and unpredictable.
The graphics are great, but only playing on max details with AA and AF turned on.
I'll post some videos of totaly scripted goals and situations later. Just need to get back home from my work
