Totally I agree whit Bangus, it is amazing.I remember sensible soccer sometime whit nostalgia, but Fifa 18 thanks to you is something of magic.
Very nice Pedrito, you seem to really understand how special this year's game is, especially with Fidel's edited Squads. Best FIFA by far. That said, and as I say each year:
The #1 issue with EA's FIFA series is the
cheat boost or
adaptive difficulty coding.
I like your thread; detailed editing to create realism is what I enjoy as well. So I'm not trying to invalidate your efforts. But as long as the cheat boost or adaptive difficulty coding remains in the game, there is little point in being this detailed and specific with your edits. When CPU teams are boosted, it overwrites all those hours of work you've put in.
We haven't been able to even partially fix the boost coding issue since EA switched to the new engine in 17. Fortunately though,
there are teams in the game that play with zero boost coding. I emphasize this and type it in bold because it's important to know and realize this if you like to edit the game in detail. Plus I really want you to try what I'm about to share with you.
Essentially, the boost cheats are programmed in about 5 levels, let's call those levels 0-4. There are CPU teams in FIFA 18 that play the game, from start to finish, at boost level 0. These are the teams you need to find and use as your base teams by which to calculate your player and team edits. So far, every team I have found that plays with 0 boosts are in the International league:
Australia, Austria, Wales, Turkey, Switzerland are a few. In FIFA 17, many of the Japan and Korea league teams played with 0 boosts, but unfortunately those same teams play with boost cheats in FIFA 18.
Most league teams in the game play at boost level 1-4. Generally, the more well-known the team and league (EPL teams and the English League for example), the more the teams in that league are all boosted. I have yet to find a single league team in FIFA 18 that consistently plays at boost level 0. I found a couple of teams that sometimes play at boost level 0, but the next game you play, they play at boost level 2 or 3 or what have you.
I guarantee you, once you locate these 0 boost teams and start applying your edits, you will be amazed at the difference. What you will then see is that your edits actually and truly make a difference in-game. Why do they make such a difference, and why does it improve the on-the-pitch experience so much? Because with the 0 boost teams, there are no CPU game-play cheats overwriting and undoing all the editing work you did. It's that simple.
When teams play with 0 boosts, they are playing to the exact level of ability/strategy you set them, based on what you determined to be realistic. If you rated the player 65 Speed, he runs at 65 Speed. If you edited the team tactics to apply 15 Pressure, they apply 15 Pressure. Whereas a 65 Speed CPU player on boost level 1 will run at something like 70 Speed. And a CPU team set to 15 Pressure, on boost level 3 will play at something like 65 Pressure. And now there go all your edits down the tube.
You thought this game was beautiful now? Wait 'til you edit the 0 boost teams and play games against them. It takes the simulation factor and realism to a whole new level. You will see things -- new and different and realistic on-the-pitch happenings -- that you never see when playing against boosted teams.
I can say this game is amazing because I don't play career mode against teams that have boost cheats. Playing against boosted teams, FIFA 18 becomes just as unrealistic and unplayable as all the other FIFA versions. So I only ever play tournament mode. And the only teams I use for my tournaments are teams with 0 boost cheats. That's honestly why I enjoy this game so much.
