Pelias Starglider

I've had a crack at creating the Pelias Starglider

I was finding the original rather blah. Looks pretty good for a first try, but comments are of course welcome. If this works out, I might also try the Pelias X-Treme, but the pattern is a bit trickier.

Ive made the white a little whiter, and also created a fantasy hi-vis version, for those of us still missing the Nike Aerow Premiership.

Because I'm a lazy bastard, if anyone want to upload the .tex files of those ones Kanuk did that would be super!:D Love that yellow one! Looks ace!

Did you, Jim? Well, that would have saved me some time. Still can't seem to find it. Can you post the link, I'd like to compare...

And I think you're right about the X-Treme. X-Tremely difficult with the rotating panel. Might have to pass on that one.

Nevermind. Just found it on your Evo-Web thread. Spooky. Hope you believe me that I didn't steal your work, mate. I really respect your stuff and would never do that. Pretty simple colour edit in Photoshop, actually. Cheers.

not trying to insult the ballmakers here.
But pelias is such a ugly ball. It doesnt look proffesional at all. Its like a ball you play with on the streets or buy at a toy store :crazyboy:

I said the same about red Nike Aerow when I saw it first time
previous red and blue, now yellow Aerow is world's top ball at the moment and top leagues currently use it
so never say never ;)

All cool. Thanks man.

Nielz and Scratch-Br: The Blue-White Starglider is a real ball, but I can't recall seeing it used in any major leagues or tourneys. The high-vis (blue-yellow) is pure fantasy.

Scratch-Br: Just import the BMP onto an exisiting texture file with We Picture Decoder (first export Pelias texture using AFS explorer). Make sure the transparency is set to opaque, and then import your newly saved texture over the existing Pelias model with AFS Explorer. You could also copy the Pelias model over SY1 or SY2 if you want to have more than one Pelias in the game.

or simplier
save ball texture as PNG or BMP in whatever graphic program you use (eg. Irfanview), reduce colors to 256 (8 bit) and import directly to game using Graphic Studio (file 0_text.afs)
ball textures are right on the beginning of this afs, plus latest Graphics studio automatically sets up it to opaque so simply drag and drop it over original Pelias

Cool, that works too, thanks. I hadn't played with the new version of Graphic Studio much. Nice that you can directly import bmp textures.

Glad you like the balls, Mayor!
